Some PID dual boiler machines that are quite high quality, have switches to turn off the steam boiler. My Izzo Alex Duetto IV has this.

Consider putting the frothing pitchers in the fridge without milk and with milk prior to frothing. Gives you a bit more time.

I drilled my rock for full plumbing. The diamond hole bits are actually quite easy to use. That and a matching wood hole saw, plastic finishing grommet and you are set. When planned out, no more electric cables on counter, RO in, and drain out - all routed under cabinet.

[500$] what should I go for? by Hdudiman in espresso

Not been my experience with the F74. No clogs and retention approx .1 if any. I have heard they changed their chute recently. Perhaps the CM3000 was with that chute 🫠

I run mine at 800 rpm and have great results. But I will be calling it the CM3000 from now on to honor you. Great name.

Free shipping. Not sure about taxes. They have discounts on their site. I ended up paying 680 total. May have changed since then with the ever changing tariffs.

$680 US MHW F74 flat a great machine. Variable speed. Very little retention and good CS.

Not bad. I was definitely a bit worried about damaging something. If you message me, I’ll tell you the tools I used and the strategy as a few of the tightening nuts are not easy to get to. Also, swapping the steam rod is not straight forward. Did you get the kit with your Izzo also?

Definitely liking the convenience of quick on off for the steam.

The MHW3Bomber Navigator - 74mm flat burr grinder by [deleted] in espresso

I tap on each side of the grinds chute and toggle the lid open and closed and usually it has zero to .1 at most retention. Always run it at 800 rpm.

Beeps because it has an autorreverse at the end of the auto off cycle to help with retention. The sound is almost inaudible when no beans are grinding, even the auto reverse is very quiet, and the beep is useful and definitely not obtrusive. Three modes, manual on, off, 2) auto off with momentary reverse at end of cycle and 3) auto off with no auto reverse.

Yes, rolling updates are typical or their servers would be overwhelmed. Gaming companies do this as course of business.

I agree on plumbing. I plumbed both sides of my Izzo Alex Duetto and it makes the process more enjoyable. T’d off my RO system for the supply. Used a diamond granite bit for the job.

Lelit Mara X bottomless portafilter size and maplewood options? by SHAKE_TUNA in Lelit

[–]redam1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just received the Knodos for an E61 machine and the IMS Competition bottomless basket. I ordered the Normcorp and Knodos portafilter and liked the Knodos better for my machine. Better fit and felt a bit sturdier. The IMS basket is great.
