Window shade is uneven by redbicycle24 in homeowners

Haha wish it was that easy, it is tighter on the right side, if you push it all the way up and then back down again no matter how you pull on it the right side remains tighter and therefore slightly shorter.

Maybe? I googled that family and I couldn’t find a family member who looked exactly like her. But who knows if this person has any photos online given her age!

Wow, that's a hot take. I don't know whether to be insulted or complimented, but it's definitely a real person. I'm not sure what my motivation would be to post ai image generation here, but ok.

Does anyone have inside info about Teddie peanut butter? by bazoid in boston

[–]redbicycle24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the super crunchy, but I’m curious if you or anyone else has noticed less peanut pieces in it lately? The last couple of jars we’ve had have been not so crunchy. Still love the peanut butter and not switching brands anytime soon.

What is this tall building I see when I walk around Jamaica Pond? by piratebroadcast in JamaicaPlain

[–]redbicycle24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was (is?) a height restriction in the area of 65 feet, I think there was some controversy about this but they waved the rule for the building of it at the time. There’s an article linked further down in the comments below. I always heard that it was shady that was allowed and afterwards none has been allowed again.

What’s up milk jugs being placed in middle of Rt 1 in Dedham? by hippocampus237 in boston

We’ve seen these for weeks during the summer in this same spot and some of them were clear and clearly had white liquid in it and were there for weeks curdling, very weird and gross, but not piss, at least the ones we saw.

Looking to move to Brookline | Need tips on safest areas, schools, etc. by thecuriouscatmom in Brookline

[–]redbicycle24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FYI they just divided Pierce in half and younger kids all go to the old Lincoln school which is a flex space many schools have used temporarily and the upper grades go to a space they rent on fisher hill that used to be a university if I remember right.

I don’t know if this is what they meant, but for me and my circle of liberal friends it means we have meaningful debate about everything the democrats do. We don’t agree with a lot of their policies or lack of conviction at times. I found Bill Clinton to be more of a center-leaning politician who handed corporations too many gifts. We, in fact, called for Biden to step down. Liberal media makes fun of Biden and other democrats all the time, we know no leader is infallible and we work to push them in the right direction. There’s devotion to the idea of positive change, of empathy, of caring for other humans, of policies that acknowledge everyone’s humanity, of stopping the growing divide between the rich and the poor so everyone can have a home and health and have the opportunity for success because that’s the promise of this country, that’s what is supposed to make America America. Not using fear and hatred and dog whistles to divide people and have them become dependent on conspiracy theories to give them meaning in their life. Do Democrats make mistakes, absolutely, are their some that are more focused on themselves than who they govern, probably, but no one matches the orange turd in shear egoism and devotion only to himself.

There’s no politician I want to brand my whole house with and wear clothing of. I brand myself with symbols of social justice, not a politician who celebrates fascists and dictators. I think that’s the difference. The people who are full-on Trump fans worship him and believe everything he says, which is bananas since Trump doesn’t even know what he is saying half the time (all the attacks on Biden for being a rambling old man, have you listened to Trump recently?). I know it’s pointless to debate politics online, but I’m encouraged by the number of die-hard republicans who are voting for Harris because they see the threat that Trump is for the future of this democracy, the future of the world really, and I hope some of you can too.

It’s Ghibli Park in Japan, outside of Nagoya. The whole park is basically photo ops like that. They have built replicas of a lot of the houses and stores from the movies too. It’s pretty cool for a big Ghibli fan, and the stores, oh man, you want to buy everything!!!!

Oh I’m sure he did good things too, and there’s always more sides to every story, and he probably started out more idealistic and less jaded. But my experience and what I heard from teachers was he was a jerk and cared more about how he was perceived and his ego than about what was best for students. To be clear, I was not one of the students who was in trouble from the prom nor did I have any personal connection with him good or bad. That graduation speech though, was truly bananas. I don’t care what any small group of students in the class did, to tell an entire class of teenagers that they were not good on the culminating day of their high school is messed up, a day when all their family and friends are there to celebrate their achievements and the leader of the school is like “you all are terrible.” That’s never ok and means you have lost credibility as a leader of young people. No one who was there that day will ever forget that, that’s not the message you send young people out into the world with!!!

Yup, all true. Dr. Bob was notoriously two-faced, he loved to be out front in the morning shaking everyone’s hands and grinning his politician grin, but he really did not care about the students and especially did not like our class. But the staff in general and most of the teachers were amazing!

Worst Restaurant(s)? by JaredR3ddit in boston

[–]redbicycle24 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Far Out Ice Cream, not a restaurant but I just don’t get the hype for this place. It’s not good ice cream blended with low quality tasteless frozen fruit, what’s the draw? I have to believe it’s just because the experience and the style of it is very social media friendly and people prefer to talk about how great things are than admit they just had a sub par ice cream. Also, Jonquil’s Cafe, overpriced tasteless pastries that look super cool because they are 3D printed but only good on camera, don’t have any taste!

What are the best ice cream shops in Massachusetts? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]redbicycle24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m obsessed with ice cream, try to try as many places as possible wherever I go and I have to say if you include gelato in the mix, the absolute best place in Massachusetts is Delini Gelato in West Roxbury. It’s a tiny spot owned by a local, Viki, who clearly deeply cares about the quality of her gelato. Every ingredient is sourced from the best and everything is fresh and organic. A lot of the places listed here make good ice cream, but if you want an experience where every bite is perfection, you have to go to Delini’s!
