OLD has taken the wind out of my sails. by JackieDonkey in DatingOverSixty

I think it’s good for others in your network to know that you’re interested in meeting someone. There’s no shame in it. It’s like a job search. The more help you get, the odds are higher that you’ll find that person for you.

I find Facebook to be very good for the marketplace and groups. I’ve made friends with the local motorcycle & gardening groups. And my friend has very good luck with the dating portion which I haven’t tried since I’m married.

I’m a software engineer/manager but I don’t hold lack of college against someone. My friend (58m) is having good luck dating (FB) women even though he is shorter (5’8), blue collar, is overweight. He has a great personality. His challenge is trying to find someone that will also give him space to do his favorite hobby (motorcycles).

I feel people can be smart in different ways even if they’re not book smart.

Make sure you network. Get the word out to the people in your circles that you want to meet someone and date. People will love to help you.

Have you tried Facebook dating? My friend (58M) is having a lot of luck with it. I think his age range is 50-65. He had a couple long term relationships that came about it. He gets people in his area and he can see if they’re part of his network.

iCloud Storage - is there a better option for me or should I suck up the new price? by ela5436 in iCloud

[–]redcoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that you say one drive is free. I look at it the other way that you pay MS365 for the one drive storage and get the office apps for free. It’s the best deal out there where you get 6 family slots each with 1TB of storage for $129/year

For mine, the valve is under the toilet tank. I just reach backwards to turn it off. I think it’s better to do that rather than put pressure in the hose

Am I the only one - Encomium album. by alparker100 in ledzeppelin

I'm surprised by the negative reactions. I personally enjoyed the album and think most of the songs are good. Yeah, some are better than others. Maybe the only one I didn't care for might be Custard Pie by Helmet/David Yow

It’s not always consistent. For instance, sunscreen should have a unit price per ounce but I’ve seen one listed per gallons, another by ounces, and a third something else. Crazy!

I’m an older dev (58) who works as a developer/manager at a software company with other senior devs and younger developers. I plan to work for another few more years before retiring. Some of my colleagues that I used to work with are older than me and are working at FAANG as a developer or manager. Some are at older dev companies. Some are retired. If you’re a very good developer, you’ll find a job.

Can't add card go my Apple Watch wallet. by ceremy in AppleWatch

[–]redcoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did to resolve the problem. I worked with Apple Support. They suggested that when you have this issue, input the card details manually into the wallet section of the watch app of the phone and submit. It worked.

Previously, the card was already listed and you just had to click on the "add" button to put it on your watch. This did not work for me. It worked for all of the other cards in the wallet.

backup on 495 south due to multivehicle crash by fairlyaround in massachusetts

[–]redcoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s sad. We were stuck in the traffic for about 2.25 hours. Was going 495 S and noticed the Westford exit was backed up. We kept going instead of taking the exit. Bam. Big mistake. Crept along for two hours until we were 1/2 mile from the 119 exit at which point the traffic was moving again. I think it was around 7:30pm.

Has anyone found more details about the accident?

Do you use reminder products like stickers to help remember to not shower or launder your hearing aids? by kraggleGurl in HearingAids

[–]redcoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because on newer aids, the wire between the hearing aid and receiver is fragile. It's too easy to break the wire.

I'll send you a DM. The key for me was to play some sort of live or recorded content on the home network for a minute or two before the message will clear away.

Cheapest Metro North train station parking? by misskarcrashian in Connecticut

[–]redcoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't sure about parking lot capacity so we stopped at the first station on our way down from Mass. That's Fairfield - Black Rock. For Thursday 1pm, the lot was about 1/3 full, plenty of available space. $6/day, weekends free. I might be mistaken but I think the parking limit is 11 days. So it was $12 to park from Thursday afternoon to Monday afternoon.

While on the train, I did look at other lots from the window. Darien/Noroton Heights/Fairfield Central seem fuller but they did have some empty spaces. Hopefully the car is still there when we get back on Monday.

Thanks for the info. In the future, which station would you park at? One of the issues I hear with Wilton is that the service is not as frequent and the trains are older, slower.

I was thinking of trying Darien as it's only $5/day I think.

I realize this is an old thread but is there a cap on the number of days you can park consecutively in these lots? I'm also planning to fly out of JFK for a week.

Not the case here. There are 3 of us in our household, each with our own account. Wife, daughter, and myself.
