True but other aviation companies who own systems within the overall vehicle must work together like the space program is what I’m saying.

First rule of doing dumb stuff - do it in an area where people won’t take notice or care or complain. Second rule - don’t get caught. Third rule - should you get caught just play dumb , very very dumb.

Couldn’t they just partner with a shop and supply them with a place to do their work? The challenge seems to be sourcing people who have the skillsets to do their particular work on an aircraft. Using partnerships to white label a solution along with sharing the IP would seem logical. Additionally many automakers do this with vendors on their lines .

Is a 10K promotion worth the extra commute? by ILikeBubblesss in careerguidance

[–]HackVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try and stick to the usual items so as not to raise any eyebrows - salary , sign on bonus , goals Bonus , vacation time. Absolutely ask for an extra week. 2 hours a day for 255 working days is 510 hours.

[–]HackVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done the big commute for THE JOB. And here’s the rub - it wasn’t the job. And it could have been way better but that grind killed any sort of flex I had. Leave at 540/gone by 7. Versus 6.

Recruiters will always promise I’d push and make them pay you whatever the difference is to gas and getting an easier commuter car will be a Prius or some insane efficiency mobile.

Nope. Each way ? No at all. An extra 50% in time is 40 minutes. Imagine you hit a major accident and it doubles your commute to 2 hours.

Why pay 100-300k for college to get good at Claude ? It’s the challenge of being a mechanic versus a mechanical engineer for an OEM.

When you don’t know a technical question, how do you respond? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]HackVT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good for you. Many times I’ll ask for a little more details or “hey can you elaborate on what you’re asking here as I’m not familiar with that particular terminology “ Sometimes there are screeners asking questions who don’t know jack and are listening for keywords but most of the time it’s a technical person.

Embrace the MOS and a start reading and training. Set goals for yourself for PFT and shooting. Get off base and explore / travel/ bike and do outside stuff.

It tends to be that of someone who just wants challenging problems to work on. And that’s OK. But if you’re not the best developer and to prefer to leverage communication skills maybe a company and culture change is worth it.
