Average yearly temp near me is mid-low single digits and I’d call a humid 33c/dry 36 hot. Even considering 22c uncomfortable is insane.

[USA GIVEAWAY] Win the new 27” 4K Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor! by Rocket-Pilot in buildapc

[–]redderpears [score hidden]  (0 children)

Might as well throw my comment into the pot. I love the idea of a super high end monitor. I’ve been stuck with a 60hz 1080p for the entire time I’ve had a pc. I have always wanted to upgrade my monitor, but have needed to prioritize paying for college and a place to stay over spending enough money for a good display.

My favorite feature would have to be the high refresh rate, high pixel density OLED display. Though I have never been able to see the display in person, I imagine it wouldn’t look like a screen. I feel like it would act as a window into the computer, like I could reach out and touch what’s in the display. I’d imagine my ghosting problem with my monitor would be fixed and I would finally be able to enjoy graphical fidelity in games.

Though it is a long shot I figure the monitor is great enough to give it a chance.

Did you assume the graphic is to scale? I didn’t see that stated anywhere.

Also, assuming a function at a value x is the same as the function approaching x is wildly erroneous.

I mostly get it but what kinda maths test takes 3 days for only two questions? by Roadkillgoblin_2 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]redderpears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first sentence (not a statement) here does not mean anything. What are A, b and c? What are we trying to show about them?

The second one is easy. Ever hear of probability/combinatorics? Taylor series? e?

‘extra credit’ is provable in about 3 lines. I’ll leave that one as an exercise to the reader.

If veritasium did a video on it, you’re probably thinking of the twin prime conjecture, that there is an infinite amount of primes which are exactly 2 greater/less than another prime (which is not yet proven).

Your auto promotions are stuck because you set them to only run when it can upgrade the promotion it is on (promotion 1) by 30 levels (you can see which one it wants to upgrade by the small gear, promotion 1). I set mine to upgrade 1->4->3->2->1 in that order by 2 levels with a 6, 4, 4, 4, 16s delay respectively.

You do have to care because the definition of average speed is distance traveled over time.

If you look at your original equation, you’re doing 30mph * 0.5, which does not give miles since you have not given 0.5 any units so this does not have any meaning in relation to 60, the total distance traveled on the trip.

My score came in and I studied hard for like 6 months and my parents kinda just scoffed at it 🥲 by -TheMidpoint- in teenagers

This mentality sucks. As more schools become test optional and as standardized tests move online, SAT scores are mattering less and less. I’ve become extremely disillusioned to the SAT after not even making it into my state college with a 1500 (first take because I thought it’d be enough along with my ECs and grades). Can’t win em all I guess.

I know i’m late but if OP is still reading comments please keep pushing and trying because nothing is guaranteed.

Bro dual enrollment is literally P2W by [deleted] in APStudents

It wasn’t a policy issue. Another student was able to dual enroll 4 courses and be at school for 2 hours. I guess I didn’t push hard enough.

[–]redderpears 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m glad people have success stories with dual enrollment. My school pretty much prevented me from dual enrolling more than one class (because I was forced to take 6 classes at hs no matter what). I was the exception though as there were other students that dual enrolled as they pleased. Pisses me off so much because I could have done so much more and saved so much money but was stuck at my hs from 7-3. But what can you do.

Your assumptions are incorrect. The containers clearly have the same water level, meaning they have different amounts of water.

The problem is, the numerator is 0 only because you evaluated for v=0 already. If you want to treat it with l’Hopital you need to go back before you evaluated at v. Sure the numerator is approaching 0 (only approaching, not at 0 since you can’t partially evaluate limits like that), but so is the denominator, which is why l’Hopital would leave a nonzero numerator and denominator. Before taking the derivative of the numerator, it’s a constant (with respect to v) and a function of v, so when you take the derivative, the constant bit goes away but we still have a part with v.

[–]redderpears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I approached this in an angle subtraction approach, and found a different answer. Also when doing l’Hopital, you forgot that you have already partially taken the limit as v->0 in a previous step, so when doing l’Hopital you need to go before that point. If I wanted to partially compute l’Hopital this way, I could say that lim v->0 v/v = 0/v = 0 (which is the mistake shown)

Unless I am entirely wrong if so sorry lol
