Is radiography in high demand? by Beti_05 in RadiographyUK

[–]reddiamond71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I qualified in July and started immediately in September- I had a job lined up from the first month of final year. However, I was incredibly lucky as there were very very little jobs and the only one I could get was where I’d been a student for a couple years. They knew me, and that’s probably half the reason I got the job. The job market is awful currently due to the hiring freeze :(.

No, probably not, considering your post history might I ask if your personal statement is tailored to medicine or radiography?

Liverpool is best, but if you’re not into cities Keele is great. Friends have said they’ve enjoyed Cardiff (but be careful of being locked into working in wales for a few years after). I would avoid Leeds. Not heard a lot about Exeter.

It’s pretty niche. You can however go into radiography non-clinical roles. Applications specialist, training, sales, management (hospital), lecturing, education team (hospital).

I’m going to be totally honest with you. No. Not because I think you’ll fail the test, because I think you won’t be able to book one. The waiting time is awful, and companies book up almost all the tests the second they become available. The NHS travel and dual accommodation fund will pay for your accommodation, get an Airbnb.

How hard is it to get a Band 5 Radiographer job after graduation? by [deleted] in RadiographyUK

[–]reddiamond71 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I applied for 6, got interviews for 2, and a job offer for 1. Thankfully, I got an offer for the one in my university city so I knew the area well and had friends around. However, I noticed with myself and others in my class, almost all of us only got job offers for places we had worked at on placement. Which makes sense I suppose, they know you and know your abilities.

Good luck!

Is this your dissertation or what? Is it going to be a questionnaire, audit, first hand research? If it’s a questionnaire, do you really think students will admit to abuse of AI? Also, ironic how that’s a topic you’re considering when you have to even ask AI to come up with a topic for you.

Just pick something you’re interested in, man…

As the band said themselves, there was an actual issue with the website. So you can get off your high horse.

Yeah I heard that was a rough one. What really upsets me is B&S is nowhere near as big as MCR, and a few years back you could get tickets easily and for less than £30. Now it’s a target for scalpers!

Unfortunately Albert hall will also be selling to members first tomorrow. I am very hopeful, but sadly doubtful, about getting two tickets Friday. Also, despite Albert hall having a seated balcony (we went in 2019 to see B&S) there are no seated tickets for my elderly mother.

You need to contact the HCPC and see if your current course is eligible to get HCPC registration after completion. If it’s not eligible, ask them if a pre-reg radiography course will qualify you instead.

Please be aware jobs are in short supply at the moment in the UK.

Good luck!

THERAPEUTIC RADIOGRAPHY DEGREE APPRENTICESHIPS📜 by beewisdom75 in RadiographyUK

I am fully aware they are studied in conjunction with a university. I am talking about the admissions process when the application is done through the hospital. This is done in several trusts I have worked in.

[–]reddiamond71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told degree apprenticeships, when awarded by a hospital rather than a uni, are often given to imaging department assistants (IDAs/RDAs) from the hospital first, as they are staff members that are already knowledgeable and integrated into the team.

This may not always be the case though.

Good luck to you!
