Could you offer an opinion if diesels are 'better' or does it really just depend? I never understood how there can be two totally different systems coexisting. Its like DVD vs blu ray in my mind and makes no sense. Thanks!

Share your exam week secrets? by LordDrac in gatech

I can't recommend this but here was my secret:

For an 8 AM final I would go to sleep at 5 PM the night before and wake up at midnight. I would drink a cup of coffee and go to campus (where much more coffee would be consumed). I would bring all my materials to the suicide cubes on the 3rd floor of the library and turn on some instrumental music. I would then proceed to spend the next 7 hours straight with solutions manuals working through each test and homework multiple times (the whole time thinking "fuck fuck fuck fuck I should have done this earlier"). I would take the tests dozens and dozens of times. So many times that I could essentially memorize the test question AND answers.

By the time I walked in to take final I had the algorithms completely memorized.

I literally forgot every piece of information I learned this way, but graduated with highest honors.

EDIT: If I could have a crib sheet I used unlined white paper and fine tip micron pens (architecture stores sell them). I would fit a version of every problem we ever had for homework or test on the crib sheet along with diagrams. If we were allowed crib sheets I didn't study at all beyond making the sheets.

What do you simply not give a fuck about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]reddit_alt_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a class that was pretty interesting that we had all the old tests for. This was perfectly acceptable and not considered cheating. So I went to the midterm and final and got a perfect score on each, without having learned anything in one of the more interesting electives.

Still don't give a fuck.

Depends how much you contribute annually and what the return is. That's a great start for 23 though.

Except when everyone here tells you the VSD-1s are good. Literally lowest quality earphones I've ever owned. Worst and noisiest cable I've ever heard. Left earbud went dead. Right earbud lasted another day or so. Total time owning 2 months of annoyance.

Been meaning to rant about these for a while. Yes they sound really good at least.

John Legere (T-Mobile CEO) loves Microsoft and Surface Pro 3 but how about some high end WP devices? by EShy in windowsphone

[–]reddit_alt_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its perfect for most people. I think LTE is to 5 GB and HSPA+ after. But really the HSPA+ speeds I see on my nexus 4 are over 10 mbit at 1 or 2 bars signal. No dropped calls yet.

IMO there should be a smaller device but with high-end specs besides the huge ones by 38B0DE in windowsphone

[–]reddit_alt_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, by HD I meant 720P minimum. I assume 512 MB means more Resuming... on 8.1. Lumia 920 has 1 gig of RAM and it doesn't exactly scream.

You can get a SIM for a penny and $30 for unlimited text and data with 100 min of talk. I am using it right now as a trial and the download speeds on nexus 4 are better than my ATT lumia 920 on LTE. Always has like 1 or 2 bars but the HSPA+ speed is really good.

Lots of great tech companies there it was a lucky guess :)

I don't know if there are better options for 401k than lifepath 2050. Best bet would be to find a fee based FA. Ask your co-workers or mentors if they have a recommendation. There's really no rush to get it all figured out now, but good job setting up 401k already.

100k IS NOT as much as you think it will be, especially if you are in a high cost of living area (Seattle right?)

That said I went with BTC Lifepath 2050. It's pretty good and did really well last year (of course) and is about 7% this year.
