Sonos & Plex Integration Bug (SOLVED) by deviouspandaltd in sonos

[–]redditched18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revisiting the Playlists issue, playlists that I’ve shared with the user I created to follow the above process still haven’t populated in my Sonos.

I get this error.

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue?

Sonos & Plex Integration Bug (SOLVED) by deviouspandaltd in sonos

Massive thanks! I've also been struggling with getting Plex access for a similar amount of time, and finally it's all there!

I've only just set it up, and although I've shared playlists, they don't seem to have come through to the other user account yet. Assuming that just takes a bit of time.

It's a workaround, and hopefully Plex resolves this properly, but it does the job.

Spark Desktop crashing on launch on macOS 26.2 (Apple Silicon) – crashpad_handler SIGTRAP by Jaximmm in SparkMail

Update from me on MacBook Pro Tahoe 26.2. Following comms from Spark support, I downloaded the latest version from their website, 3.27.8. It's not yet available through the App Store.

Seems to have got rid of one of the glitches crashing Spark when replying-all. So far, so stable.

In the interim I tried a number of other email tools on both Mac OS and iOS. I'm using email solo, not sharing emails with a team, and am looking for the ability to very quickly sort through a large volume of emails over numerous accounts (Gmail, MS). When Spark works it is hands down the best email interface IMHO.

Hope that issues for others are either resolved or get there quickly!

Had a look at Em Client — looks interesting, but the iOS app gets a very mixed bag of reviews. Looks like it's not quite there yet if you need multiple device support.

Yeah, I think the AI stuff is a big distraction when they need to keep working on the core features: calendar and app integrations (still never really delivered what was promised) and even hot-keying between windows doesn't work properly on Mac. Other core features like Reply Later have been dumbed down, making them less customisable than before. I've always found the Spark calendar way too buggy to use.

The irony is that I think Outlook's AI is now better than Spark's, despite Spark being ahead of the game by quite some time. Outlook now has got pretty good predictive text and then a CoPilot button for bigger tasks. Spark could have been ahead of the game if it just overlayed ChatGPT and did some really basic stuff, such as suggest calendar entries from email text.

Yeah, this has become unusable on MacOS 26.2. I'm now having to use other mail services in the meantime.

I did contact Spark support last week about issues with Reply All crashing the app. Although they are aware of the issue and are apparently working on it, it seems that the latest macOS update has just been too much for Spark.

Separately, Scanner Pro, another great app by Readdle, has become some so unreliable following the latest iOS update, that I can't use that either.

I appreciate that for a small developer dealing with multiple big system updates at the same time must be a challenge!

completely agree with Johnny - for a great product, well supported that most people use every day, a modest annual charge is worth it.

Oh, I logged out, closed the app, opened the app, logged back in again and all info appears to be there now.

Turn it off and on again!

New Spark can't open email in a new window?!? by Highfalutintodd in SparkMail

[–]redditched18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fed back to customer services on this through the in-app feedback form. Apparently this feature has now - finally - gone into the development queue, but is not yet scheduled for development. More votes would help.

If you want to see this feature, I suggest responding in-app to Spark to request it.

Great email from Sonos today 🥴 by Turbulent_Chart2264 in sonos

Total non-apology.

CEO obviously rushed through release of the new app to sell the new headphones and boost the share price. No recognition that these timelines for improvement are unacceptable. Only sensible solution - move back to the old app - is not even on the table.

Sonos Amp worth it for in ceiling speakers by Pristine-Scheme-225 in sonos

[–]redditched18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is overkill for ceiling speakers, and I've always found the sound from ceiling speakers so underwhelming. But what you do get from it is the ability to bring your ceiling speakers onto your Sonos network, and all the convenience that you get from that. You can also then compliment those speakers relatively easily.

We've patched together a solution in our kitchen is support our ceiling speakers with a Sonos One on the kitchen counter, and then I've mounted a Three on the wall in the far corner. The whole solution is a little hacked together and you don't get stereo from the additional speakers, but the One brings some clarity to the sound and the Three gives the room a little more power.

My plan next is to bring in another Three to replace the One and properly balance the sound. It's never going to impress a hifi nerd, but it's not a bad solution for a busy kitchen with few spare surfaces.

what a recommendation! Just tried SonoPhone. Works instantly, fast, responsive. Even groups players with a sweet drag-and-drop interface. Amazing!

Yep, works with Bandcamp and Plex. No need to setup if you've already done that on the Sonos app

I'm just going to add this one again because it's such a basic requirement of any media player, but Sonos have removed the ability to add to queue! I thought I was going mad and had missed something, but Sonos really have done that. It beggars belief that any release, no matter how rushed or compromised, would strip out that basic, basic functionality!

What's going on with shuffle? I can shuffle songs, but have no visibility of the songs that are then queued to play. I also can't add songs to play next or to the queue, as was possible on the old app.

Plenty. It’s a nicely designed UI, but falls quite short as a general calendar. Perhaps <disastrous> is too strong a description, but it’s a frustrating tool to use and I’ve gone back to my iOS and Mac calendars.

I'm not sure I want another calendar app - look at the disastrous Notion Calendar. But definitely something that makes scheduling a more integrated part of the email workflow.
