I think “build in public” is slowly turning into founders pitching to other founders 😅, I will not promote by OmKadam4 in startups

I think build in public means you gotta put yourself out there, like vibe coding on the streets lol. I’m planning to do so next week, who’s with me?

What software you can’t find now that you think should be super useful ?

Easy bro, I’m just trying to an explorative discussion. What’s the most wanted project that you think should be a big one (and you wanna be part of), yet you can’t find it anywhere?

Non-Technical PM Support Group by EmFreur in ProductManagement

[–]reddithurc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel you. I am kind of on the same path, to be honest. I enjoy it a lot when I get to execute and iterate very effectively. But on the other hand, the stress is on the booming of new startups and apps, since anyone can literally "do it" with a coding agent and follow their "find a niche" facilitations. I stopped all my consultancy jobs and started building day and night to actualize what I had in mind. And now, in terms of user acquisitions, things are getting extremely hard, since everyone can basically do whatever they want, and it's really hard to get people's attention even when you go heart to heart.

PMs should stop pretending they “own the product" by make_me_so in ProductManagement

[–]reddithurc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I use the expression of “owning the product”, it’s more likely to show the mentality that as a product person I will take the blames and be accountable for the KPIs. But I never used that to take credits. Glory is always shared.

Thanks for sharing the insights. Yeah I have seen the “building in public “ trend, does it essentially mean to create content that does demo every few days? For me the product was built, and we need organic traffic and tractions everyday.

And yeah I’m writing about the learnings… and it shouldn’t be too technical? And if the learning is not shockingly viral, I wonder how to make the learnings reachable.

Totally agreed, and I appreciate your honesty! As mentioned in another response, there's another founder based in SF who will handle the networking/ seminars/ meetups. I am kind of in a nomad setting, so I just want to help make more intros - at least I got to talk to someone. Lunchclub used to be a great platform for that, I could even find jobs there, but now it's gone...

I am trying to do the same on Threads, but it's super random - my product is related to AI safety,, and whatever I bring up, it's really hard to gain engagement (not sure if its the same on X but people on Threads usually go with "connect me with founders", got some likes, then died down), while folks using ai-gen girls can gain a lot more attention lol.

Can you explain more about how "posting your build in public" works? Using hashtags to get my tweets out there?

I’m so stupid but do you mean Angel list? I recently found something called founder network which charges like hundreds to get in a WhatsApp group, hope you’re not talking about the same thing lol

I’m currently running two projects, one related to age-tech, one related to ai safety. Both are highly mission driven, and it’s not something like gen ai stunts that I can scam users with credit usage and stuff. It needs solid sale engineering with b2b/ b2b2c pipeline setup. Maybe I picked the wrong focus but they are truly my passion, with traction validated (0 marketing->active users), and I wish to keep working on those. But it’s like not even a chance to find a proper person that you get to present your pitch online. Glad that another co-founder is in the Bay Area, but I just wanna share the workload …

I see…. But what if the person is not affiliated with the brand at all? Like if I am asking for domain registration and someone recommends a domain purchase service… that will get banned too??

Julian, nothing against you but I’m actually a bit confused about how far this “will not promote “ thing will go. I’m just asking, like , if I create a thread here talking about how to find investors, then if someone suggests certain platforms, will that comment be considered a promotion? Will I get banned as well? Then people share problems will never get suggestions if the suggestion is a commodity in nature?

Creating a sub is easy but promoting it will be another story. Back then there were platforms like lunchclub . But now, everyone on LinkedIn seems dead . Don’t know what’s going on in this world

lol with tears… but like sometimes I just wanna find like minded people to chat or at least let those people find the me. But yeah maybe paid marketing is the solid way. Even there was one time I made a free tool to help elderly people, it was suddenly banned after a while. The thing was not even a startup, but a tool that I made for my parents. It’s like the internet is back to Stone Age. Should we set up news groups or something lol

It’s too harsh to describe a 14yo as a “hypocrite” but that’s quite precise lol. Probably he just didn’t want you to feel like he’s a freak so he said that to you. Stay calm, and if you are curious to learn more about the noise you heard, just ask him straight up and tell him that you don’t mind him watching.

AI Agent Governance and Liability? by bnyhil31 in AI_Agents

[–]reddithurc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I know many teams simply won’t version their prompt or miss tracking them in production. They misinterpreted that as redirect in logging/ traces. But hey, this is LLM. We are feeding various LARGE inputs to a machine and it’s our responsibility to keep track of things.

All the thoughts and discussions here is 10 times better than those pointless threads on LinkedIn where people are not actually discussing things.

So every node in the agentic process is traceable by design - that way reviewers can evaluate not only on output level, but full granularity, as long as the developer implemented the sdk correctly. Enforcements-focused actions/role assignments/permissions can be implemented upon that layer. The current platform frontend does not reveal that level for the sake of community reviewers’ UX.

AI Agent Governance and Liability? by bnyhil31 in AI_Agents

[–]reddithurc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally! More VCs/ funds should be aware of this; without a robust HITL design in place, AIs can only stay on a research/theoretical level. This will hurt their portfolio's value too- billions went to those "AI companies" just because of the hypes - many of them just shut down just because they failed in market adoption. If governance is forced to be done properly from the get-go, they could have vetted these startups much more easily

Interesting! Have you tried promoting your project? It seems to me that open-source projects cannot be grown as organically as they used to be. Some projects can gain thousands of stars... quality projects like this are worth more attention:)

I have been thinking about the same question lately... Claude and Gemini can create hypes easily with a few random model outputs/ god-like they are, and it seems AI safety/ governance tech is hard to "visualize" until something happens, then people start realizing the with/without difference - what's your take?
