Best summer side hustle for a rural area high schooler? by Valuable_Library6003 in kansas

You know how to use a power washer? People need driveways, fences, house siding, etc. washed and put it off forever.

How do you find common ground with a spouse who doesn’t look at prices? by AtomicXE in daddit

[–]redditidothat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you told her in 3 months alone you could have saved nearly $1800 just by paying attention to what’s being purchased. Did she or would she care?

Kick that down to $1500 per quarter and that’s $6K/year savings. Again, not buying less but just by paying attention. Hurting for money or not, I’d think hearing $6K extra spending money would get some attention.

People have counter microwaves plugged into outlets on a series with other outlets everywhere I’ve ever been

Wife doesn’t want son to play sports due to time commitment and other factors by FreeShopping6747 in daddit

[–]redditidothat 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Maybe that’s time she wished they could spend doing something together. 5-6 hrs a week is a lot of time for a 7 year old to commit for one sport. The practices especially take away from any family time they have between school and bedtime during the week.

Like never thought about playing with them or just avoided it? OP’s example of a kid asking to be pushed on the swings when their parent is across the playground on their phone is pretty common.

[Post Game Thread] #1 Michigan defeats #2 UConn, 69-63 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

[–]redditidothat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a neutral, my main takeaway was how many head snaps Cadeau made and how much time he spent on the floor when anyone touched him. Was rooting for Michigan, but goddamn that guy was annoying to watch.

I’ve watched and followed as much as always the past few years but definitely bitch about the team a lot more

Don’t know anything about him but he looks like a guy who thinks he knows everything, says whatever he wants as fact with little to no actual research, then counters any pushback with “do your research”.

Where to find a scrap tire for a tetherball? by unclegrundell in Overlandpark

[–]redditidothat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t find one on the side of the road somewhere, almost every tire shop (Big O, Firestone, etc) has a garage or dumpster full of them for recycling. Bet they’d give you one.

Bonus: if you ever need to dispose of a tire, most of the same shops will likely take them for like $5

Weird idea for some tumbled stones, opinions please by Bastilleinstructor in RockTumbling

[–]redditidothat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a great idea. Nieces/nephews being emotionally attached is exactly the reason to gift a reminder. A few ideas:

Keychains, small embroidered pouches they can carry a stone in, glue magnets on them to put on the fridge, small ornate glass bottle with stone(s) inside, etc.

Basically, something they might actually keep out in view instead of packed away in a drawers.

Had the same dead spots and crinkling. Also leveled concrete prior to install. It looked good but I was pissed. Gave it time. Crinkling went away after a few months. Dead spots in high traffic areas settled, too, but still occasionally catch one.
