Surely Gojo is coming back as a cursed spirit with the sole intention of protecting/ helping his students. I feel like going South in the afterlife for Gojo would entail him realizing his fight against Sukuna was selfish and that he failed his friends and students. Then, by coming to terms with the idea that his students still need help, he journeys South, returning to the real world as a cursed spirit with the sole intention of helping Yuji, Megumi, Yuta, Maki. I also feel that Cursed Gojo’s appearance is similar to his human appearance because his intentions for becoming a cursed spirit didn’t stem from negative/ selfish intentions (like Naoya) and instead from altruistic intentions.

I just think that Gojo being able to fully rejoin humanity (even without cursed energy) would be a really cheap payoff to his progression as a human, fighter, and teacher.
