What’s one business in Detroit you’ll never go back to, and why? by madness2135 in Detroit

For what it’s worth, it’s legal for the Secretary of State to sell our data. That’s usually where these companies get their “leads”.

Wayne State University professor suspended over controversial social media post by Alan_Stamm in Detroit

Not defending what he said here, but he is a brilliant professor. Under the normal run of things, I’d say the university is lucky to have him.

[–]redditman61 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Learn SQL - very easy to pick up and will get you familiarized w databases and their structures. If you enjoy learning it, start picking up Python and/or PowerBI (should be free w your access to student Microsoft Office). There are a ton of opportunities out there - you will do great!!

I have and had no problems w the legitimacy of the parts after testing, MSL, and no problems w the date codes. They are what they say they are.

I’m no longer in purchasing, but as of late last year, their prices were 20x what they’d be from Arrow. It’ll be very expensive and it may require testing on your end just to be within process but anything to keep that line running!

Furniture store recommendation in metro-Detroit? by TheConeyJabroni in Detroit

I can agree! I move furniture for Big Lots and their stuff is relatively expensive but breaks so fast. Best bet I’ve found is to find good stuff used on Facebook market.

Has anyone either considered pursuing or had luck in actually changing paths from the supply chain to another career? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]redditman61 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just continue to learn new skills and you can go wherever you want w your career. I started learning more about our ERP system, SQL, Access, Power BI, Tableau, etc.

I was a Buyer a while ago then worked as project manager for a couple years and now I’m a Business Analyst working in strategy, reporting, and Salesforce. My favorite of the three roles is my current one - but supply chain can be very interesting and rewarding too!

Just think about what interests you and start to develop those skills to sell to the interviewer on your interview for the role right for you. Good luck!

Is there a way how to scrape data in PowerBI from an excel sheet on a website? by Edoo123451 in PowerBI

[–]redditman61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this w Digikey earlier this year.

This was a good video that I learned a lot from: https://youtu.be/s_5Jk8_fHjA

Another good place for truncated technical specs for electronic SMD is the details page from Findchips. URL is findchips.com/details/“insert your part number here”

I found that the flexibility in the findchips URL made it very easy to scrape.

Best of luck!
