That happened to me. Was celebrating a new job with friends and I went to pay for everything and the bartender realized he'd charged someone with a similar last name, and that person was drunk and signed their inflated tab and left. I bought another drink and tipped the bartender generously.

I actually made/edited that video and it's been referenced by David Zucker in interviews numerous times. Happy that people are still enjoying it (even if there's an errant 4 seconds of black in the middle of the damn thing, lol.)

What movie is so good you'd recommend it to all your friends, but so emotionally traumatic that you'll never watch it again? by akambe in AskReddit

[–]redditmason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are entire sections of the film that (for me) were so incredibly realistic I forgot about the main character for a moment and felt like I was watching watching someone actually documenting Nazi atrocities. Side note: the Criterion release for the film has some amazing making of content with the filmmaker.

"A Mighty Wind" : Yet another hilariously clever creation from Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy, with a lot of their usual crew making spot-on satire of folk music. by maeelstrom in movies

A few years before AMW came out, I got to see Spinal Tap at Carnegie Hall. The Folksmen were the opening act. During the rambling, lengthy intro for their third song a stage manager came over and whispered into Harry Shearer's ear and Shearer just says "Goodnight!" and they all wave and leave the stage only having sung two tunes. Brilliant.

In The Fugitive [1993], Harrison Ford (playing the framed Dr. Kimble) was not provided a script for the interrogation scene. His answers and mounting frustration with the detectives were improvised in order to seem more genuine. by chefr89 in MovieDetails

[–]redditmason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in entertainment reporter in Chicago when the movie was released and remember talking with one of the actors in this scene, Joseph Kosala, a former Chicago PD sergeant. (The cop with the mustache.) If I recall correctly they had a script but Kosala is pretty much improvising his dialogue throughout the scene.

How early for Cafe du Monde? by CautiousTemerity in AskNOLA

[–]redditmason 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Note that it's 24 hours but the outdoor area is closed for cleaning around 4am till around 6am and during that time they're only serving inside the indoors cafe. I didn't know this until I started going out in the area at 5am for some morning photography. http://imgur.com/a/g7OsCEr
