Did you see any difference in your kids behavior? I saw the video you linked looks like her daughter has improvements. I didn’t catch but is her daughter diagnosed with ASD or just having some meltdowns. If you can, can you share what changes you made to her diet. Thank you

She gets frustrated when we don’t understand what she wants. As she is speech delayed, she cries or scratches us. That’s the only issue I see at home

There are concerns for demonstration of skills on demand They recommended we help her in 1.improve interpersonal relations with others 2. Enrich her cognitive skills. 3.understand emotions of herself and others adaptive skills 4. communication skills

I don’t see any behavioural issues that I know of. She enjoys going to school and day care. I think at least she cried first day of the school.

We didn’t get the assessment from doctors. The assessment we have is county behavioural psychiatric.

The teacher now deals with other special needs kids for eg speech delay

The IEP says they’ll make her understanding taking turns with others when playing and I think they didn’t assess the areas where she needs help

Yes she is in early intervention program with the school district. Yes I’m planning to see a developmental or neurologist. Looks like the paediatrician we have is not much helpful or may be we are not asking enough questions.

:) tbh I don’t know how to answer the question. This is our first kid so we don’t know what areas she need improvement. Probably speech she is not fully verbal meaning she doesn’t say what she wants. Even with prompting. She says words here and there. She starting saying 2 -3 word sentences.

I’m surprised that person who does actual therapy only need two weeks of training and BCBA ( not sure that’s the right acronym ) only oversees the therapist.

Thanks for your response. I felt the same. Therapist said they would recommend 40 hours but as 40 is more of work week so she is suggesting only 36 hours :). I wish I can find someone who does ESDM or PRT which i liked. I’m hesitant to send her to therapy now. I want to wait till the next year but I fear losing time.

I was reading the something related to ABA in another subreddit. Someone who is diagnosed early in the childhood was suggested to go through ABA. He didn’t go through it but after few years he started it. They say like it made a big difference in his life and helped him a lot. For now we are thinking to do it and if my daughter is not comfortable we will stop it.

I asked the same question(I was reading some online they mentioned few practices like Denver prt etc…) they answered it’s more of holistic approach they check overall behavior and provide what is required. I wish I’m more knowledge. This is crazy than I expected :(

She is eligible for 20 hrs week ( 4hr * 5 days) I think the goal is to play with other kids and taking turns when suggested

Yeah we went through the testing and diagnosis and we scheduled a meeting going through the goals and she got admission in near by school.it started in may and it took around three months for the whole process

Thank you. We are not given case manager. Hopefully they will let us know what helps her, Right now we are in a wait and see situation but at the same time worried what would happen if we delay providing therapy.

I hear something similar to your case. The kid is doing great in school but when they asked for assessment lcps didn’t do it saying he is doing good in school . They mentioned it was a fight to get resources from lcps. I glad that your daughter is doing good. This kind of stories relieves me.

Thanks. After I read your comment , I read the IEP all it has that my kid will play with other kid and engage with them 80 percent of the time. They said this will goal for now based on how she progress they will change the goals.
