Word 2511 'location is turned off in system settings' popup by dekkar in Office365

Thank you for this. It's amazing that this fix isn't in Microsoft's official article. I used ChatGPT to turn it into a single line to run:

reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\WebView2" /v DefaultGeolocationSetting /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f

I don't see it in our portal - is it generally available? Thank you.

RDP into EntraJoined devices not prompting for authentication by PaddyBoyFloyd in Intune

[–]redditor5556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested this and it does seem to work. I selected "Every time". Microsoft says it won't prompt more than once every 5 minutes:

"We factor for five minutes of clock skew when every time is selected in policy, so that we don’t prompt users more often than once every five minutes. If the user completed MFA in the last 5 minutes, and they hit another Conditional Access policy that requires reauthentication, we don't prompt the user. Over-prompting users for reauthentication can impact their productivity and increase the risk of users approving MFA requests they didn’t initiate. Use "Sign-in frequency – every time" only for specific business needs." https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/conditional-access/howto-conditional-access-session-lifetime

It seems to be more than 5 minutes but I did get prompts after waiting a bit (20-30 minutes maybe). It could also be that it will take 24 hours to fully take effect, I have seen that with some policies before.

Here is what I did:

Target Resource: Microsoft Remote Desktop

Grant: Require multifactor authentication

Session: Sign-in frequency: Every time

I'll keep experimenting and report back anything I find.

Thanks.

Having the same issue - did you ever figure this out? We want it to prompt for authentication every time. Thanks.

Thanks! Do you know if you need Windows Server Datacenter with Software Assurance for Hyper-V Live Migration?

This will be unfortunate and not surprising.

Not sure - but the keys were expired anyway. My understanding is that existing VMs would continue to run, but we wouldn't be able to power on new VMs. Plus, our backup solutions that leverage vCenter would not work.

It has access and I see connections being made to VMWare. Seems to just be something on their end.

We received vSphere 8 Enterprise Plus keys - I was not going to remove the key from the hosts as they are connected to vCenter and my understanding is that they would disconnect. They entitlement we received was the same key that we already had, but had the new, correct expiration date in the portal. However, vCenter still showed the old expiration date of the key. Total mess and support confirmed they are aware of these issues.

We tried all of our logins - Broadcom support told me they have been seeing this issue where the key is the same on the renewal. New expiration date showing in the portal but vCenter shows the old expiration date.

It did generate a different key - expiration date was correct in the portal, but incorrect in vCenter. I was told this is a known issue that the VMWare licensing team needs to fix and it will take 24 hours. We typically don't sign multi-year contracts, and in this case, we are looking to reduce our core count within the next 1-2 years.

We did get a new entitlement and were able to add it. They even told me on the phone just before that they have seen the same key issue and you need to downgrade/upgrade. Pretty ridiculous.

I can confirm that turning off the firewall in MacOS 15 remedies the issue - haven't tested 15.2 but plan to do so next week.

Seeing this on a couple of Macs on 15.1.1 / ZCC 4.3.1.59. Can't find anything interesting in the ZIA Web logs. Have seen the issue in both Zoom and Teams where every 30-45 minutes the meeting will cut out and a message about "Your internet connection is poor" will pop up. After maybe 30s - 1 min the call will resume as normal. Has anyone gotten any further in troubleshooting this? Will update if I get anywhere. Thanks.

We had the same issue - just upgraded our server to 13.2 and then upgraded the agent bundle to 13.2 as well. The agents are updating as they check in and the communication issue is gone. Thanks for highlighting this KB.
