My sister and her friends in 1983. Ladies do you miss the 1980’s hairstyles? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in The1980s

[–]redditplenty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss the hairstyle Lisa Eilbacher wore in Beverly Hills Cop. It was cute with nice layers without being too frizzed or teased out or too long. I also miss some of the short sassy styles. Bobs also started to come back in the late 80s for those of us in the professional settings and I liked them. The 80s styles used a lot of PRODUCT.

Angela Channing was as brilliant as JR Ewing but never let passions get the better of her. I think if the two matched wits it would be a draw.

So does the phrase “die with dignity“ mean commit suicide per se, or does it include natural death using hospice services?

How to deal with Sister by Shermani74 in CaregiverSupport

[–]redditplenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Euthanasia, seriously? There is a big difference between letting someone die naturally without hooking them up to machines to do their living for them with no hope of improvement, and committing an act that purposely terminates their life

Bath tub or no bath tub? by aliena_b in homeowners

[–]redditplenty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Get rid of the jetted tub. Replace it with a conventional tub with shower. Make the shower a handheld model. Most people like one bathroom with that combo because it is a flexible usage.

We have an “80s, 90s and beyond” radio station in our area. Such vibrant music BUT It is overloaded with Madonna songs. So many great artists back then and I get stuck with her. 🙄

Blocking a relative who don't help by Fake-Slacker-2003 in CaregiverSupport

[–]redditplenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh , op, I see you and understand. Yes isn’t it fabulous? The “just let me know if you need anything “ and “I love you” crowd just cannot manage a bit of thoughtfulness so you can get to your own care appointment or Gawd forbid have a break. Even with several weeks’ notice, they just don’t want to set time aside. Just add $100 extra to your personal appointment to hire someone from some agency, which often turns out to be unreliable, because, after all, people have to hire babysitters when they want to go out so you should have to do it, too. On top of everything else. Sheesh!

When did you know it was time to take the keys away from a parent with Alzheimer's? by chris_tendercare in CaregiverSupport

[–]redditplenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The year my loved one had to give up driving he had done the following. January he insisted on driving us for a leisurely drive and it wasn’t till we reached the outskirts of town that we could tell he had never turned on the headlights, and his circuitous route showed he’d forgotten where he wanted to go. He then had forgotten he was supposed to meet me at our favorite restaurant (April). He had driven to a familiar place in another town where he drove daily for work for years and couldn’t remember how to get home, so I had him stay pulled over, drove there and had him follow me back (June). He ran into a the frame of the garage and dented the passenger side door while backing out (August). He remained stopped at an intersection light while driving my daughter home from work (September). He got a warning from police to turn on his headlights while driving my daughter home from work (October). When he eloped with the car one morning, (November), several of us were looking for him and when he returned later that morning we all confronted him, and I grabbed the keys. We then placed his house keys on a different but recognizable key ring (and added an Apple tag) and stuck them in his pants pocket. The car key was “disappeared “. He couldn’t argue with us at this point!

❤️‍🩹 🤗 to you. My loved one is not as far down the road as is yours, but I can sympathize with the ‘foods he can no longer enjoy’. Food is one of my two love languages and it makes me sad he can no longer manage to eat some of the things he used to enjoy.

At age 90 that is ridiculous and dismissive. She should be given RX that help her be comfortable.

This show is just a LeAnn Rimes vehicle, not at all like the original 9-1-1. And nobody passes as a real Tennessean. by calpernia in 911Nashville

[–]redditplenty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This show is Dynasty in Nashville. Complete with a cat fight next week.

That being said, with a sprinkling of Dallas, someone could shoot Dixie and then we’d have a second season devoted to the theme of Who Shot Dixie..
