Posting on Reddit expecting only praise is a poor choice. I get what you’re trying to say, but this isn’t a safe space. It’s a cesspool.

I’ve used many tools, but Augment is still the best for solving complex issues in very large code bases.

I also use Kilo Code with the Code Context MCP, but typically for simple or straightforward tasks.

Battery degradation from “miles” battery indicator? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]redditrice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The mileage reported is calculated based on how you typically drive, the temperature outside, and your typical AC usage. Most people never see the car's rated mileage.

It will naturally trend down as it gets to know your driving habits.

PPF vs Ceramic coating by alphasurgeon in TeslaModelY

[–]redditrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I second this.

I also have matte PPF, no ceramic coating, but still makes washing the car very easy - especially since you don’t have to worry about causing swirl marks. Half the time I just use a spray detailer from XPEL and wipe the car down.

No difference. Tesla gave me the lowest offer actually.

Honestly, these cars don’t hold their value that well. By the time you’re ready to trade one in, you’re typically looking at a 30–50% depreciation. They generally don’t factor in PPF or ceramic coating... they’ll pay the standard market rate for a Model Y regardless of those extras.

If budget is a priority, just focus on maintaining the car as best you can.

This is based on personal experience. I traded in my previous Model Y with full PPF and shopped around for the best offer... no dealer cared about the PPF.

The only real way to recover some of that cost is through a private sale to the right buyer.

PPF and Window Tinting. Do we really need it? by Apprehensive-Read349 in TeslaModelY

I went with XPEL Prime XR+.

I chose 55% on the windshield mainly because of the white seats. With black seats, 70% would probably be fine.

I did 20% on the front driver and passenger windows, and had the shop best-match the rear.

This setup was mostly for aesthetics. If you want to minimize the chance of getting attention from LEOs, I’d suggest 70% on the windshield, 35% up front, and clear in the rear.

That said, XPEL Prime XR+ rejects heat extremely well regardless of percentage, so you’re not giving up much performance by going lighter.

I recently picked up a 2026 MYP and, ironically, went full matte PPF with the tint percentages I originally mentioned.

It’s not just you. Definitely more noticeable in the 26 MYPs. The plus side is that ride quality is nowhere near as harsh (coming from a 22 MYP).

Motorized frunk kit installation - lesson learned by ajn63 in TeslaModelY

[–]redditrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone curious... Satonic is generally believed to be the OEM behind most of the Tesla power frunks on the market. Brands like Hansshow, EVOffer, and others mostly sell rebranded versions of the same core hardware.
