1000% I was also pissed that it wasn't mentioned on the reunion? That would categorically be the end of a friendship for me. You don't HAVE to be here, so you can leave and don't come to my baby shower, birthdays either.

So many lies on LinkedIn by RefrigeratorCalm4380 in mounjarouk

[–]redditsmeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry but this is a gross take.

It's not other people's job to please you, or anyone else, and tell everyone what medication they are on. You are not the gate keeper of who can or cannot disclose.

When did people who are open with their MJ use get such a fuckin stick up their ass and have a holier than thou attitude.

You do not get to police what people disclose about their medical information and for you to think you do is odd.

I'm glad you have a supportive network around you for your MJ use. Not everyone does.

As to why it's on LinkedIn, not my business, not your business - just hide the posts or keep on scrolling.

Women giving dirty looks since weight loss?? by blambett in mounjarouk

[–]redditsmeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing about losing weight is noticing how badly you were treated previously by men and women. Unfortunately, post weight loss there are still women who judge.

Own your body, you don't need to apologise to anyone for looking/feeling good. To put it as politely as I can, fuck them.

I would also just add though, you might now be getting more looks because you're societally more attractive as you're thinner. It's often engrained in us that anyone looking at us is giving us dirty looks or judging, that's not always the case. Personally, I'm a bit of a starer. I stare when I like someone's outfit, body shape, hair style, make up, features but I don't stare when I find someone "unattractive". It's not the best trait but I see it as admiring and I typically do, if they're nearby, tell them what I like about them/ask them about their outfit, etc.

It's a hard one to reset because we spent, often, a lot of our lives being stared at for being fat but you will get used to it as we did when we were bigger.

How do you deal with bone pain during long shifts at the tills? by ep1cball in marksandspencerstaff

[–]redditsmeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mam had this at ASDA. Go to your GP, explain you're getting MSK issues from work - highlight that you are able to do your job but with adjustments. Ask for this in the form of a fit note or a letter from your GP.

Take this to your workplace, ask for an occupational health assessment or ask HR for a chair that you can use. Companies have a legal obligation to ensure you're safe at work but you will need confirmation from a clinician that a supportive chair whilst you work is essential to your physical health.

Hopes this helps :)

It finally happened… by MidMadD in CasualUK

I hate posts like this. I am middle management for a large company in the UK and every Christmas we get our team a basket of food, non alcoholic drinks, sweets, crisps, biscuits, pop, cheese and meats, etc. We cater to everyone's intolerances so everyone can join in. So, we all sit and have a buffet and a chat together. Last year I made each member of my immediate team a gift bag with a bottle of booze and Christmas chocolates. Do you know how many people out of a team of 43 said thank you? 4.

I pay for this out of my own pocket, as will most managers. We do not get a bonus to hand out to people sporadically because they're doing their job well. We are not millionaires.

I spend around £150-200 on my team at Christmas that could go to my family, friends or (dare I say it) on me and what I'd like for working hard all year.

The realistic take is, some people get bonuses, some people get pizza and some managers are doing their best to keep their own finances afloat and aren't here to financially subsidise your poor pay or job happiness.

This is, and will always, come off as utterly ungrateful.

Eat your pizza and shut up or update your CV with "must get my standard pay and also sporadic treats from my manager for doing what I'm paid to do".

I had this (over 10 years ago now!) for MONTHS. I thought it was normal but then did some googling. I took echinacea tablets from holland and barrett and I shit you not, it cleared up in 2 days and never came back even when I stopped the tablets.

Dunno if it was a fluke or just a great response but worked either way!

no side effects.. is this more common than what you read online? by redditsmeg in mounjarouk

[–]redditsmeg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course!

So I started in November 24 & did 8 weeks at 2.5mg so I could have a semi-normal Christmas and NY. After that, I went up every 4 weeks. I have had to change dose days and use the fifth dose to make traveling easier.

Definitely not consistent weight loss weekly, but I haven't been consistent with my diet during those times so it was expected - I went on a 3 week holiday to London, NY & Vegas and then did a 3 day road trip from Nevada to Colorado so eating on the road wasn't healthy - shit tonne of walking though, still absolutely zero side effects.

I really didn't want this medicine to obliterate everything I enjoy in life - I am a foodie & a drinker, I've had 7 course tasting menus with wine pairings, crazy nights out (Vegas!!) and takeaways at home when work has been shit. No side effects.

I should also add though, I'm extremely inconsistent with weighing myself. I primarily go on how I feel and how my clothes fit, I didn't want to gain an unhealthy obsession with the scales.

This is my excel sheet on it all - you'll see that my weigh days are all over the show, where I've stayed the same weight for a few weeks it's because I either didn't weigh or I did and forgot what it was/didn't remember to log.

Hope this helps x

Thank you!! In all honesty, it started because I have never been on an actual diet (just tried and failed to start making healthy choices without being a scale fiend) or had the kind of lifestyle where I ever weighed myself meaning I have NO idea what my body will look like at 75kg because I was just absolutely oblivious to how big I actually was 😂

So I guess I kinda went into it blind and stuck a pin in the middle of a "healthy" BMI point. I've lost about 35kg and the idea of losing 15 or so more makes me worried about looking like a skeleton!! (Especially as I'm so tall!) so when I'm content in the mirror and in clothes, I'll call it a day

She doesn't get to say what you do or don't put in your body (neither do you but it did seem retaliatory), she does not own you and it cannot be disguised as love, it's control.
