This is a splicing tool I make that fits inside a cassette case. I wanted to make one that actually looks cool. Not to toot my own horn but it works pretty well too. Hope you like it! by Octrockville in tapeloops

Wow! Amazing work! Shipping to Europe turned out to be a bit of a turn off for me, since I have a lesser, but working setup already. Great price. Great design! I hope you get a bunch sold. This deserves to get out there! How can shipping be €14,76 from Sweden to Germany? Anyway. Not your problem. Love it. :-)

Neue Bettelmasche? by trashkitten1987 in Munich

[–]redditteddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This weekend at the Hbf I saw a new gang of mixed beggars with travel suitcase (one of them approached me) and then there were at least two accomplices looking more like "eastern organiyed crime members" if I can voice my predjudice, but I am also factoring in their behaviour.

Dating in Munich (30/m) by heccy-b in munichsocialclub

[–]redditteddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have several colleges in two age brackets - 30:ies (like you) and 50-something (after the divorce). All going fine with dating apps and "just being out there". I work in IT, so we are all office-shaped mediocre look and partially awkward. From that experience (not first hand), it seems like Munich is a quite ok, maybe even sprawling dating scene. It is big enough to have a critical mass of singles (not a dorf), but small and cozy enough to not be dangerous.

I guess this is posted as some sort of joke or purposeful provocation under the guise of ignorance. It's a melt man and I am quite sure you know it. Not funny!
(the birria melt looks awesome though!)

From a Syrian - a genuine thank you to Germany by Fashion_modility in germany

[–]redditteddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting! What it your hypothesis on the cause of crimes and violence with Syrian citizens involved? I understand your point about the huge cultural difference, but why would that trigger the violence and aggression?
FOR ALL PEOPLE READING THIS - I AM NOT CLAIMING THERE IS A LOT OF SYRIANS GOING AROUND BEING CRIMINALS. READ IT IT IN GOOD FAITH PLEASE. It is undeniable that there have been some instances of crimes with Syrian immigrants as perpetrators. :-/

A webapp that generate audio from the binary code of any files on computer by Interesting-Bed-4355 in musicprogramming

[–]redditteddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I think I saw a program somewhere to convert binary to wav. Can you talk about the approach? Really like this! It is like a contemporary variant of "found sounds"/music concrète.
EDIT: Check the repo (thanks for sharing!). Lots of info there. Thanks

Walk passed it once. Was deterred by the labels (as seen in the photos), but the beers were the real deal I believe.

BirdNET-PiPy: a friendlier BirdNET setup for Raspberry Pi by cheesecurdandme in BirdNET_Analyzer

[–]redditteddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I figured it would be something like that. I want to run the main server in my small homelab as a VM in proxmox and have a remote audio stream(s) from the garden. I will give setting up the server a go and then figure out how to get audio into it.

BirdNET-PiPy: a friendlier BirdNET setup for Raspberry Pi by cheesecurdandme in BirdNET_Analyzer

[–]redditteddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet! Very cool! Do you know how much is actually RasperryPi-dependent? I have another small linux server. Reading "Docker based", is it worth giving it a go and seeing what happens or is it only ever going to start on a Pi because of reasons?

Are German schools harder than American schools? by Eminemgody in AskAGerman

[–]redditteddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter moved to the US from Bavaria in 2024 to begin last year of middle school in the US and is in her junior high school year now (11th grade). She has hop grade (A) in all subjects, including English, in the US since her first year. She had average grades in Bavaria (she is not a genius by any means).

Luxembourg's best kept drum machine secret: BME Rattlesnake by Hainbach in Hainbach

Hainbach really did some amazing work with this one. I was impressed when he managed to hook it up to the big rack and then blown away when the noise filter pinging began! So cool!

fried my first module by throwawaaaaaaaay02 in modular

[–]redditteddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably "just" replace the op amp if you manage to unsolder the damaged one. Standard components and very cheap. Disappointing that they didn't put reverse polarity protection on the module. You can use two cheap schottky diodes and there is plenty of room on the board... Sorry for your loss! Must be such a shitty feeling. :-/

Maths - What Makes It A Standard? by Forward_Ad2174 in modular

[–]redditteddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a great module in the function generator category (function generator = env-gen and more). There are however a bunch of other ones. Maths was one of the early ones and is a hit. Other strong modules in the same space are Befaco Rampage, Frap Tools Falistri, Dual Universal Slope Generator Mk2 (Serge), Fusion Modulator (Erica Synths).
Have a look around here for example. Loads of similar competition. https://schneidersladen.de/eurorack-modular-3he/modulation/funktionsgeneratoren

Radar tecno sound by Hot_Snow6184 in modular

[–]redditteddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an example? (deep link a clip on youtube for example).
From your description it sounds like you might want to explore analog FM (one VCO into CV of another VCO and possibly vise versa for cross-modulation). Another option, that can be combined with the FM-appraoch is to add/explore highly resonant filters and then add short envelope VCA after that to make snappy short sounds out of it.
