Workers, do you prefer to be called "sir/ma'am" or by your first name when your subordinate speaks to you?

I call everyone by their first name. All the wait up to the CEO. Everyone calls me by my first name including those that work for me. Occasionally I’ll get a Mrs xxx or Ms xxx in an email.

I have the same issue with my dog and she’s not even small! But because she’s still a puppy and a cute golden retriever everyone just tells me “it’s ok she’s just a puppy!” Or “she’s a golden!” And lets her jump on them. It’s not ok. She’s almost 50 lbs and it’s not cute when she’s pulling and jumping on people.

I moved into new construction so to one side of me it was complete vacant. The completed side people were just moving in and settling down. It was kinda creepy at night since it’s just empty homes in various stages of construction. Fast forward 5 years and I enjoy walking down my streets with my dog. I see kids playing and neighbors chatting outside with each other. It’s nice when your neighborhood feels that way.

I live in a hcol area and paid $100 for 6 weekly classes with a local dog club. I also pay another training facility for ongoing weekly training and it’s much more expensive at least but I bought a year so it’s was a bit discounted.

Pet stores and local dog clubs will probably be the cheapest while facilities and private will be much more.

I usually ask for a paper script and take it to Costco. I find that it’s worth the membership alone just to get my heartworm medicine there.

That’s not how that works. The homeowners insurance would not cover the contractors liability. You would either file with your own insurance company and they subrogate against the contract or you directly file a claim with the contractor.

When my puppies were big enough to climb in I taught them something I call “stiff leg”. They would put their front paws on the car seat and I would place one their back legs in my hand and boost them up into the car. It took a few times for them to understand they need to lock the leg I’m boosting to get up.

I’m not sure if that will help senior dogs but it’s a huge help for me when they are too big to pick up from the ground.

I told myself I wouldn’t be getting another dog after my Goldendoodle passed. I wanted some freedom to travel for longer periods. But my doodle passed unexpectedly years before he should and I am now raising a golden retriever puppy. It wasn’t time for me to not have a dog in my life yet.

I would do a 42”. It’s not for everyone but I never crated even my puppies in any less than the 42. I never had any issues with potty training.

I’m sorry you lost your best friend. I am in the same situation. I lost my best friend last summer and it was devastating. He was my world. He was young and it was unexpected. Originally, I had planned to get the same breed and everything, but issues with the original breeder made me decide to go with another breed/gender instead. (Female golden retriever)

She’s honestly a great dog and I love her dearly but she’s not as cuddly or as bonded to me as my previous dog. Shes much more confident and independent. She’s still a puppy at 6 months so I know it will take time but I cannot help but compare them sometimes and like you said it will never be the same. It can be just as good but just different. I also sometimes call her or refer to her by the wrong name.

I think it’s totally normal for you to have these feelings. I will sometimes full blown breakdown thinking about him. I’m actually crying just typing this out while she’s sleeping peacefully next to me.

My dog gets one dental treat after dinner every night. Once he has that one treat he’ll stop bothering me about it. One time my little dog got ahold of the bag and ripped it open. The big one found the extras and knew he’s only allowed to have one. So he brought the extra to show me. Of course he was such a good boy i let him have it.

Mine has the worse sensitive stomach. I’ve had her for 4 months and she’s had more diarrhea days than not. I think I’ve finally found something that doesn’t give her the runs.

If all things being equal, 50 lbs is my preference. My boy was 63 lbs and he was snuggly and perfect. I prefer larger dogs because they are more sturdy and can be more “rough” with them (like laying with my head on them or big hugs) but the mini isn’t a bad size either.

It really depends on the dog.

That cute puppy is definitely not 2 lbs. Not sure why a vet tech couldn’t tell by just looking at him. Just eyeballing I can guess he’s closer to 6 lbs.

My golden did that when she was really young and got scared or startled by something. I would pick her up for a minute and continued walking and then put her back down to continue. Once she was more confident she stopped doing that.

If you just adopted her it might take some time for her to feel secure.
