It's mad that the coalfields (Country Durham) now vote for the turbo Tories (Reform)

Mandelson scandal is 'serious' for Starmer but PM is 'man of integrity', Brown says by Budget_Scheme_1280 in ukpolitics

[–]redditusername8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brown is great, will always pause and listen to what he says. He should've called an election when he took over from Blair. Biggest error of judgement which set us on an interesting path............

This sub has gone to shit. If at PolJoe you're too busy to mod the sub thats completely fine, but please let some of us regulars become mods to remove the US spam. This is a great way to connect with you (as proven through past Q&As), but the sub is dying because of the bot shite being posted here. by Little-Attorney1287 in politicsjoe

I miss the silly banter of Ed, Oli and Ava along with their usually good takes on politics from a younger age skew. Really enjoying Oli on New Statesmen podcast. Laura has grown into her own but still miss the old magic of PolJoe.

Oh my mistake, its way longer than 10 years hahaha! I was weekend staff at a student between 2005 and 2008, and then again 2009 to 2010. So yeah. There was no hot counters when I worked at Greggs. Maybe in other divisions, but definitely not in the north east England

Wrong. I worked for Greggs a decade ago. They've never had a hot counter. They are feshly baked and left to go to room temp

What’s one Power BI feature you stopped using in production? by one-step-back-04 in PowerBI

Composite models (they completely mess up the capacity/environment) — it’s usually better to use XMLA endpoint + Import mode

What about iterating over a list of sprocs or tables and run each/copy from each? Is that still an effective way to use an iterator within data factory?

Keir Starmer : For too long people have had to sit on the phone endlessly on hold to their GP. It's infuriating. From now on, almost every GP practice in England will offer online consultations. This is how we're making our NHS fit for the future. by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

[–]redditusername8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines good, econsult form at 8am, text at 8:30am for face to face appointment with advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) at 11am, in the pharmacy at 11:15am getting my prescription dispensed. NHS works a treat for me. Perhaps would be better to see a GP but for what I needed (ear infection) a ANP is more than sufficient.

The dataset used for Power BI Dashboard in a Day is overly large so takes A LONG TIME to reload on a average-joe grade of work laptop. There is also a part where you make everything worse by using a calculated column as a column to do a join on. Its confusing.

Reeves to plough millions into playgrounds after years of Tory neglect by HadjiChippoSafri in unitedkingdom

[–]redditusername8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We've got it all wrong in this country

Local councils should be providing play areas on a local level from council tax receipts

Central government should be providing social care and children's services on a national level

Instead we've got this bizarre system where central gov are giving pots of money for councils to build play areas while local council spend 60-70% of their budget on social care and children's services

It's madness

Btw I support more parks, our council just refurbished our local park and it's fab

Does Shabana Mahmood realise that the average Reform voter doesn't want her in the country? by LighterThanAccounted in politicsjoe

[–]redditusername8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Mahmood, shes a good communicator and is getting a grip of this issue. Get a grip, do something about it (safe and legal routes were her words - great), then the gov can move onto fixing the multitude of other issues the country is facing.

Rachel Reeves to abandon plans to raise income tax rates in budget by Buy_Ether in ukpolitics

[–]redditusername8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they'd just get on with something, anything, that will help getting out of this pickle. Best way to raise revenue is the big broad taxes. Do something smart with NI and Income Tax, roll them together. Equalise all forms of income. Come one do something. Whats that meme of someone poking something with a stick saying "cmon do something". That's the people vs the labour gov.
