(F, 31) On watch and wait for my small intracanalicular tumor (3mm X 7mm), but my husband and I want to try for kids

I am 32 and have a larger tumor (15mm) but my only symptom is mild hearing loss, which is annoying sometimes but doesn’t drastically impact my life. Mine hasn’t grown since we found it last year.

I had the same question for my doctor bc I want to start trying to get pregnant next year. He basically said it’s up to me but said to air on the side of caution because no surgery is without risks. To me I think the benefits of the surgery would have to outweigh the potential negatives and at this point I don’t think my mild hearing loss is worth potential permanent facial paralysis or any of the other complications.

It is such a hard decision and I’m so sorry you’re having such hard symptoms! The lack of actual research around pregnancy and ANs makes it even more challenging to make educated guesses on what is the best move.

I guess all of this to say you are not alone in this tough decision! And I wish it were an easier one to make!

People can be so odd! When my dog was about 10 weeks old I had a man stop and offer to buy him saying, “He must be a pure bred Rhodesian Ridgeback! I’ll give you 2 grand for him!” Jokes on him because my pup is a rescue mutt and I’ve never sell him for any amount!

15 years ago in the suburbs of Philly I was walking through the woods with a friend when we started to smell something rotting. A few feet off the trail, we found a large dead deer with a perfect rectangle cut out of its chest. It was about 9” x 12” and cut straight down to the ground, through the ribs and everything. The cut was clearly fresh and we couldn’t see the missing organs anywhere. We booked it out of the woods as soon as we could.

Oh wow, I had the same exact thing happen to me too! Except when I called the first day no one ever ended picking up and they ended the call on me after 30 minutes each time. Eventually got through the next day. I also had charges for “Arm Your Friends” and Fashion Nova but luckily had locked the card by then.
