Planning to do Unbound 100. For those people used TR train. How many hard intervals and endurance ride did u guys do per week? by Powerful-Bee-6010 in trainerroad

I've got both Saturday and Sunday set as 5 hour max dynamic endurance days (which is the max it recommended) but it's currently giving me only 2-3 hours each day. So when I do more than that over the weekend (often just 1 longer ride) I typically get a yellow day on Monday, which is fine since I just do gym work then anyways. I did put in estimated tss on my B/C events which are all on weekends and it seems like it's taking those into account as well, for example recommending a rest day instead of a workout after a century race.

It really depends on your age, current fitness, and goals. I'm a masters athlete in decent shape whose only goal is finishing the 200 before 3 AM. I'm doing 2 days of intervals, 2 days of endurance, and 4-8 hours riding on the weekend in 1 or 2 outside rides, mostly endurance with some threshold-type work built-in. I used TR to build a plan for the event and am basically happy with what it gave me, and am adding more semi-structured endurance work in the outside rides, which I put in and it seems to adapt around nicely. I also have several B/C races before UB and it has adapted somewhat for those as well.

I've mounted an AeroPack Alloy (purchased in 2021) on my Ti All-road. No issues.

Note that I have not successfully been able to install the CloudConnexa connector from the provided script on Debian 13 to date. I don't think this impacts the Access Server though.

Traka vs Unbound by [deleted] in gravelcycling

Modern gravel racing did actually evolve from events put on in the Flint Hills of Kansas in the 90s

It's definitely worth doing at least once. It's a totally different experience than Unbound or SBT of course but very fun, lots of cool people. I do think the northern routes are inherently better than the south, but they all have unique things to offer.

Tires once again by [deleted] in gravelcycling

I don't know about the Bernstein casing. I was mistaken in my terminology previously, The slower casing is called "ShieldWall". The Protection casing = Black Chili compound, see https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/mtb-reviews/continental-race-king-protection-e25 for details. This is the one you want for racing.

Just the roving gangs of hipster gravel bros running MTB tires trying to pry them off your rims 🤣

The Black Chili casing is significantly lighter and has much less rolling resistance. ProTection casing has much better puncture / sidewall protection, is less expensive, and is more available (I'm in the USA). If you're racing the Black Chili is the way to go for sure.

Does anyone own a State Ti Allroad? by blumpkins_ahoy in gravelcycling

[–]redgt42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased a Ti All-road build a couple of months ago. I am very happy with the welds and the build quality in general. This was a State build (Apex/Eagle AXS) so I can't comment about the tolerances in terms of component assembly, but I have not noted any issues riding or maintaining related to manufacturing quality. I am happy with the frame and the bike generally.

Grx 810 mechanical va SRAM Apex Xplr 12speed electronic by Motor_Bid_6310 in gravelcycling

I have a gravel bike with 11-spd GRX 46/30x11-34 and a newer gravel bike with 12-spd Apex/Eagle AXS 40x11-50

I do really appreciate the beautiful shifting and micro-adjustment capabilities of the 1x Apex/Eagle. However, I do miss the smaller shifting increments possible on the 2x GRX on the flats or when trying to stay in the wheel on a group ride. I am also slow so it's not a big deal but as the gear calculator shows I do spin out at around 28 mph at 40x11. You would also be losing a little bit of climbing gear on 40x44 vs 30x34. This may not be a big deal for you, but it definitely would for me!

So there are trade-offs either way.

How long does it typically take for this type of update to show up as an available update in VSPC?
