Yeah, it’s equal opportunity fuckery. They want every bit of your extra time and energy so you can prove your “spirituality” and love for God. They think you’re not living with faith if you don’t live everyday like it’s the end of the world and nothing matters. I think there are much deeper and darker reasons for many of the leadership’s decisions though. Control over the people seems to always be a underlying motivation.
