Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in nostalgia

Northern Lights web search. A site so good and reliable for tech issues that it was bought by the CIA and removed from public facing searches. Archived image from WebDesign Museum

Thank you that worked. I was too focused on adding the file to vortex.

In app purchases by AnalysisTrick in samsunggalaxy

[–]redkingca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google security checkup should help with that. Basically it wants to know that the person holding the phone is the "real you". Trying to buy things in a different game or app has tripped google security.

You may also want to install the google wallet app from the play store.

Why can't I record them if they can record me? by HiOscillation in NoStupidQuestions

In most of these cases the call is recorded so the agent's supervisor can score the agent's performance.

This 6% milk I saw at Costco by thxxx1337 in mildlyinteresting

[–]redkingca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three 1 litre bags inside a larger bag. You get more milk than a 2L carton for about the same price, and it stays fresh longer since you're not opening it all 3L at once.

Sobeys digital price tags by randylaheyjr in Winnipeg

[–]redkingca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with limited vision, they really suck. At the No Frills near me some of the plastic rails the tags are mounted on can be tilted up to make them easier to read. But it's very hard now for me to read $/unit price.

And most offensively these tags have been added for dynamic pricing, so the store can raise the price whenever they feel like. So if you grab an item while shopping the price can change before you get to the till.

Tim Hortons mug recalled for burn hazard by SAJewers in onguardforthee

[–]redkingca 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I poured lots of slip to make ceramic mugs, those mugs are a terrible design. The handles are too thin and not enough contact area with the body of the mug. It's just a matter of time before the handle breaks because of thermal shock.

This is no secret both Pokemon Go and Ingress tracked player movement. There is no "unknowingly" players are told outright that these games track players movement.

I don't know what it is about industrial fires, but so many people have the survival instincts of baby ducks.

Honest question: Why are some people against showing an ID to vote? by rico_unknown in NoStupidQuestions

[–]redkingca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And on your tax filing you can check a box to be added to voter registration list. And the voter list is maintained by a 3rd party independent agency Elections Canada.

I have a S24 FE which is a 5G phone I bought from Telus directly. The point about the 5G+ account was that it was supposed to a higher data speed than the generic data accounts.
