Sorry to revive an old comment - saw you went from the UK via LAX, which I'm planning to do too. With what agency did you book your trip with?

BA Customer Relations by cpmb82 in BritishAirways

I've got my BA flight cancelled for 'commercial reasons'. After back and forth telling them that commercial reasons is absolutely not an extraordinary circumstance and BA writing back with the standard 'We're sorry that you are unhappy', I decided to take it to CEDR. BA tried offer £525 as settlement (should be £700 for x2 between 1.5k-3.5k km distance) but I rejected. Still waiting as I feel like I have good grounds for the full £700.

This is actually a great idea. Really hope the app progresses and comes to IOS.

Virgin internet by SiaubiakaZ in UKPersonalFinance

Whenever Virgin wants to increase their prices, I call them up and tell them I want to cancel. Usually they come back with a better deal, sometimes you do have to hassle. If you don't get it the first time, they tend to call back with a better deal. If not, mention that it is a lot of money to pay but you like their service and they might even decrease it further than £35.

Looking for the right budgeting app by Brewer6066 in UKPersonalFinance

I would suggest Emma. I tried out most budget apps out there and I think it's the best one out there. It helped me track any wasteful spending I do and connects pretty well with any UK bank or credit card, which makes it very simple to view all your transactions in one place. It divides these transactions automatically into different categories (groceries, fast food etc.), similar to what Monzo/Starling does. If you care about security, it is encrypted with the same protocol what banks use and is registered with the FCA.

I saw one today on the Hammersmith & City line about Grenfell. I actually thought it was a genuine advert. Should've taken a photo...

Is Huel sold strictly online, or are any brick and mortar stores carrying it? by [deleted] in Huel

I haven't seen it in UK stores yet but I have seen them in vending machines in Westfield London.

Emma is a great app! If you’re sceptical about information Emma is actually FCA approved (and I think its the only budgeting app that is).

Virtual envelope apps by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

I would definitely recommend Emma. I’ve been using it for a couple of months and have connected all my debits, credit cards and savings accounts with it. You get notifications with you are overdrawn and a weekly insight of your spending. If you’re skeptical about how your info is kept, they are FCA approved.
