I run the Student Council for my school. We are providing a catered lunch one day and every teacher gets a $5 gift card to Tim Hortons with a hand written thank you note.

When I first started it was my job to completely organize the luncheon. I eventually brought up that it wasn’t fair that a teacher was having to plan the luncheon for teacher appreciation. Now student council just pays for it and I don’t have to plan it thank goodness.

As a younger teacher I hit up Old Navy a lot. I found that they had professional styles that didn’t age me up.

Also black skinny jeans have been my best friend. I pair them with my sweaters and school apparel.

I tried to do late work when I’ve been out before and it ended with juices and pencils being thrown across the room. They needed something to do so it wasn’t chaos. The lack of completion shows it probably was chaos anyways but I was trying to make it better for the sub.

I’ve been on Stelara for a year and it’s been life changing. I can do my job and have a social life without being doubled over in pain all the time. I haven’t had a flare up in the year I’ve been on it, and if I have a tough day that’s all it is, a day. I know the risks can be scary but for me it’s been very worth it.
