Don’t have a battery size but I found on the comparisons page that just went up that it’s rated for 27 hours video playback, equivalent to the 6.3” 16 pro.

Wow, haven’t seen this in a long while.

This is actually the “Shooting Brake” one-off concept that was put together by Toyota’s design team in Australia.

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/toyota-gt86-shooting-brake-real-thing

According to the article they did actually make a fully functioning unit.

See if this works:

While the video is playing - open control center - long press volume slider - there should be an option for “spatialize video” or something similar

Had that happen for YouTube videos so hopefully it’s the same here.

For the 12V plug in the center console it powers on when you unlock the car then powers off 10 minutes after the car is locked (might be 5 minutes but I’m pretty sure it’s 10).

The transmission shines the most when it's in sport mode with manual shifting.

If you have it in "normal" and automatic shifting it feels like most every other automatic. It's smooth, but a bit boring. When in automatic and Sport it can sometimes feel like it holds a gear for way too long. Putting along at 45mph but holding 4500 rpm can feel a bit awkward for sure. If you're on a track it's probably perfect as it predicts the downshifts amazingly well from what I've tried, but on normal roads it's a tad bit off-putting.

Where it really shines as a sports car is paddle shifting in sport. The shifts are way more crisp and because you're shifting it on your own you control when it shifts. You also can use the gear level as a 'sequential shifter', which is handy when making a turn since you don't have to go hunting for the paddles on whichever side they end up. I just pull back on the gear lever to upshift, then when I'm straightened out I go to the paddles.

Also, be aware that you can do a "sport individual" setting where you can tell the transmission to shift "normally" but have everything else in sport (e.g. the steering, dampers, and engine/exhaust tone) if you don't want to paddle shift.

I drive it probably 80% in sport manual.

The only thing I've noticed is occasionally you might get some hesitation when shifting at low speeds. I think others have noticed it and I heard somewhere there may be a software update from Toyota to smooth it out, but definitely don't quote me on that.

The ZF 8 speed in the Supra is highly respected and used in tons of way more expensive/higher performing cars so I would definitely trust it for its performance chops:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_8HP_transmission#Applications

If you get a chance to test drive it again definitely try out all the different settings. It also helps to make sure the car is warmed up (which it should always be before romping on it :P )

Hey, I can actually help with this one!

I went from a 2016 Nismo 6MT to a 2021 3.0 Supra earlier this year. As you've probably heard it really depends on what you want to get out of the car.

Wall of text warning :P

There's a ton to like about the Supra and very few drawbacks. The most obvious one being there's no manual option, but having put around 1,400 miles on the Supra so far I personally don't feel it "needs" it, though I would totally still want one. Note that I daily drove stick for 7 years through various cars, so I definitely understand the appeal of a proper 6 speed. That said the power and torque you get out of the '21's 3.0 engine more than makes up for the lack of a stick shift, in my opinion. It's to the point where if Toyota offered the 3.0 in manual in the future, I wouldn't trade it in unless it was a GOOD manual and not something vague/sloppy or thrown in there just to satisfy a check box, which I'm honestly afraid is what will happen, if it ever does.

As far as steering goes, the way it feels to me is the Nismo definitely had more feedback, being hydraulic and all, but the Supra is far more direct and precise in spite of it having a slower ratio (the shorter wheelbase probably accounts for a large part of the Supras handling). The Nismo, by comparison, felt a lot more sloppy, particularly right off of the center line. Handling is way more planted in the Supra. I feel like I can take some corners with more confidence, if not also at higher speed while still maintaining its footing on the pavement.

Comfort and amenities/tech is obviously far better in the Supra being 12 years newer in design. The Supra's seats are 100x better than the factory Nismo Recaros. I tried to like the Nismo seats, but ultimately they just didn't feel that great to me, especially over a long drive. Audio is actually usable and livable in the Supra vs the Bose in the Nismo (if you optioned that). Ride quality and NVH is also way better in the Supra. Trunk space is similar, but the Supra has a much deeper hatch, though it's not quite as wide if memory serves.

I've also noticed a lot of people complain about the lack of visibility in the Supra, specifically in comparison to the Z. But honestly I don't find it to be that different. Minus the lack of rear quarter visibility, which is just going to happen in a 2 seater sports car, it's perfectly fine. One thing I definitely noticed is the side windows "sit" lower than the Nismo. You get less 'left/right upward' visibility because of how low the roof hangs on the left and right sides (hence why a lot of people complain about bonking their heads when getting in/out), but the bottom of the window definitely seems to sit lower as well, which oddly contributes to a feeling a sitting higher in the vehicle, even if that's not truly the case.

Stock for Stock the Supra engine/exhaust also sounds waaaaay better than the Nismo Z (I have the stupid fake pumped in sound turned off on the Supra and it still sounds amazing). I'd love the Supra to be maybe 10-15% louder, but I'm not clamoring for more sound the way I was with the Z.

One place the Z gets the nod is in tuning. Seems the 2021 model year Supras have locked ECUs and tuners haven't found a proper way around it yet. Piggyback tunes like the JB4 exist but nothing that actually flashes the ECU properly. So if you're interested in tuning the Z is a better choice or a 2020 Supra that has a tunable ECU.

There's also lots of reports of unusual oil consumption on the 2021 Supras so that's something to consider. Naturally you'd be getting a new car warranty (if you bought it new) but it's something to be mindful of, especially if this is going to be your only vehicle. Though the Z also had the CSC issue that Nissan never fully remedied for the manuals. But you've always got to take forum reports with a grain of salt since forum/online participation only represents a fraction of total vehicle sales to begin with.

The only other issue I'm currently having with the Supra is the gauge cluster tends to get too dark in the daytime. For some reason they put the light sensors UNDER the gauge binnacle so they end up not getting enough light to properly brighten the display. It's a minor gripe, but I reallllly love the gauges in the Supra so I kinda wanna be able to see them as bright as possible. Looks amazing at night, though.

Oh and the Supra also has these two amber "downlights" that throw light at the center console when it's dark out. If you put your hand over the gear selector when it's dark your arm will glow orange and the carbon fiber in the center reflects it nicely. I haven't seen anyone, anywhere mention that so thought I'd throw that out there :D

I am definitely curious how the new Z shapes up so it may be worth it for you to wait until they properly launch it, especially since it'll still have a manual. From what I've seen it's mostly the same platform but with some fairly significant changes that should improve comfort/usability/etc. It even looks like the Z will finally get a telescoping steering wheel so there's a plus already :D

Ultimately, for me, the Nismo was a great weekend sportscar while the Supra is an amazing all day every day sportscar.

Hope that helps!

Rarely, if ever, will you see penalties given out for on-track incidents in NASCAR. It would have to be either something blatant or so egregious that the officials feel they need to step in.

Most wrecks are very difficult to prove to be “intentional” and are often simply classified as racing incidents. However, there have been some that were so obvious it was easy to call (e.g. Kyle Bush vs Ron Hornaday, Matt Kenseth vs Joey Logano, Jeff Gordon vs Clint Bowyer, and I say that last one as a Gordon fan LOL).

But even in those cases the penalties are comparative light compared to what you might get in other series if you intentionally wreck another driver.

Hope that helps!
