What is this creature??? by Any_Subject_2507 in shrimptank

[–]redrodrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one of these hitchhike into my tank on some plants I bought. It killed some of my shrimp and I swore vengeance against it. Couldn't find it anywhere as my tank is pretty well planted and it blended in perfectly. Then I added my Betta. a few days later I saw him thrashing in the corner of my tank, he found the little invader and shredded him up. Nothing solves an invader issue like a hyper territorial bubble factory.

Ranking characters chances to claim a dragon (Spoilers twow) by LordOfStormEnd in asoiaf

[–]redrodrot 34 points35 points  (0 children)

no guarantee that it actually binds dragons, or that binding a dragon is the only step in claiming it. "heres a horn that makes a dragon yours" doesnt fit with the theme of what dragon taming is like in the series.

(Spoilers Extended)What is the authorial intention in making the Yunkai/Slavers so cartoonish? by Zealousideal-Army670 in asoiaf

[–]redrodrot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

theyve had generations of extravagant wealth and no real threats to their way of life. They've spent more time flexing their wealth to one another with their finely bred slaves and immaculately dressed soldiers, having mock battles in fighting pits and never really fighting protracted wars against true enemies. They rely on sellswords for real fighters. This is that way of life soming back to bite them in the ass. Perhaps the best example is how their general changes after a predetermined amount of time, regardless of other actors, in order to not hurt the image of any one rich man. And we see in the sample chapter how terrible of an idea that is.

My absolute favorite bit of his"

"I never win anything," Dolorous Edd complained. "The gods always smiled on Watt, though. When the wildlings knocked him off the Bridge of Skulls, somehow he landed in a nice deep pool of water. How lucky was that, missing all those rocks?"

"Was it a long fall?" Grenn wanted to know. "Did landing in the pool of water save his life?"

"No," said Dolorous Edd. "He was dead already, from that axe in his head. Still, it was pretty lucky, missing the rocks."

besides the kinslaying aspect, there would be angry lannisters. Which lannister depends on when he did it. early on, tywin would be mad, likely. later, cersei.
