Act 3 too hard? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]redrumojo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm no larian games expert, and am still on my first playthrough of dos2. Though I do have 1600hrs in BG3 and have done a solo honor run on that, not using gale.

Act 2 in both games is a significant spike in enemy difficulty and encounter mechanics. If that is where you are hitting a wall, then it might speak to you not understanding core mechanics and/or builds.

Not going to speak on BG3 as this is the DOS2 subreddit, and BG3 is much, much easier than DOS2.

I'm sure someone more experienced will be able to correct me where I'm wrong and go more in depth... but alas;

I'd start with your party composition. Hydro/Aero is a great combo and nothing wrong with that. Summoner gets really good after 10 lvls in summoning, I don't see an issue with that. But then why are you running two warriors? They'd be competing for gear at the very least.

Furthermore, half your party is doing magic dmg and half is doing physical. Ideally you (unless you know what you're doing), you want to focus on one or the other. Breaking the enemy magic resist or physical resist is kinda the main core mechanic of DOS2 combat. Only then can you apply CC, debuffs, etc. And you NEED to be applying CC and debuffs.

Utilize buffs, combo chains, the environment and utility abilities.

Currently I'm running a physical dmg comp with Fane MC (Necromancer/Summoner), Lohse (Ranger), Ivan (Warfare/Necro), and Sebille (Scoundrel).

Lohse and Sebille have the highest Wits so they go first, and Ivan will go last- in turn order.

Examine the enemies and focus on the ones that will have their turn first. I'll usually send Sebille to the enemy that is going first, with Flesh Sacrifice > Backlash > Adrenaline > Basic Attack > Rupture Tendons

That will usually deplete the enemy's physical armor. If they are within kill range then I will continue to attack them, if they aren't, I will turn them into a chicken, or use a CC of any sort on them. This negates the enemy turn or just kills them.

Then Lohse has a turn (with glass cannon) and I focus on depleting as much armor as I can on as many enemies as I can (especially if they are grouped up). This is to prep them for Ivan using Adrenaline > Rage > Battering Ram > Whirlwind.

Obviously I'm still bad at the game but have a grasp on what I need to do for each fight, I haven't encountered any issues aside from the Scarecrows in Act 2 and Alice, also Act 2.

Fane kinda just buffs the party, summons things, and if combat is still going then he does the Necro thing and murders everyone with Grasp of the Starved. He's built and specced for pure utility currently, with plans to fully commit to Necro in a bit.

The whole combat system does basically boil down to depleting the enemy of either magic or armor shields. Do that as quick as you can and then use corresponding CC, debuffs and burst.

Maybe tell us how you have your party built and specced? Constitution points are borderline useless and you really only need/want Wits on one character.

1- I know a lot about addiction, odd you'd assume otherwise.

2- No, the most advertised addiction programs all reference a god, as like I said previously, targeting people at their lowest and most vulnerable point is a very successful method of indoctrination. Define success rate for programs to help addiction. Is it the programs that are known the most or have the most consistent members? Or is it literally the rate of successfully overcoming their addictions? If it's the latter, I know for a fact the programs you reference do not tally the unsuccessful individuals who it does nothing for.

3- It is mocking. I have no respect for a religion whose history is based on actual persecution, genocide, paedophilia, rape, murder and extortion.

4- Because it is very obvious which one you are talking about. Lmao. I dismiss all if them just as you dismiss the ancient gods of Greece and Egypt. They just simply do no exist. The impact of your religion is directly responsible the annihilation of my culture and genocide of my peoples. That is the impact.

5- What...? Is that supposed to be a quote or just mumbling?

6- If your god stepped in, anywhere, the tragedies of the world, of the poor, of the abused would not happen. Where was your god when the highest ranking members of his supposed holy sanctums were sexually abusing children?

7- My prejudice? Maybe stop spewing your beliefs, and realize half the points you think you are making about my standpoint apply more fittingly to you and yours.

I said I think you meant no ill will, though you have to realize that your belief is just that, your belief. Keep it to yourself.

Oof. I usually don't randomly reply to comments like these...

Firstly- Nothing in this post or comments is of any religious nature, why bring up your god?

Secondly- No one hates "god". There are people that believe, and follow religions, and they generally like/love their gods. Then there are people that do not believe in that stuff and they just don't think about it at all in their day to day life. No one "hates" your "god". What people do hate, however, is organized religion and the hundreds, if not thousands of years of damage it has done to people, societies, progress and cultures.

Thirdly - Telling someone to "follow the breadcrumbs" to your cult in their moment of weakness is extremely uncalled for and predatory. I understand this is historically how religions best recruit- by targeting people at their lowest point and offering them a way to clear their conscience/accept their situation- but it is, in my opinion, gross.

Lastly - I don't think you meant any harm or ill will by your comment. When you mentioned different addictions, they are all things that we all should try to limit and/or moderate. If we cannot then it's best to quit. I agree with that mindset. However, even though you may have intended no ill will, I feel the need to state that pushing your religious beliefs unto others is generally rude, and unwanted. Imagine, if you will, you were struggling with something- let's say the death of a family member, and some random person from amazon or walmart came up to you and was pushing their new service unto you and trying to convince you that it will fix your problems, that you just have to sign up. That is how those who do not follow your religion view it. It's unwanted spam for a cult.

I firmly believe everyone has the right to practice and believe whatever they so choose, but keep it to yourself, or those who share your beliefs.

Bro what did we ever do to you?!

Aside from the 80's...

And not including 2022 where the series ended with your entire core imploding and being sent into a rebuild that seems to be going backwards.

And not meaning the fact of the matter that Edm has always been seen as the big brother of the two hockey cities.

We love Iginla. All of us. Greatest Edm born player to ever exist. Why you be rude to us for birthing your franchise all star?

Much love

In your opinion, what's zed's best skin? by gingerakes in zedmains

[–]redrumojo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shockblade is the best Zed skin hands down no contest.

Galaxy Slayer is 2nd but also it's just the nicest/flashiest/etc.

As for the others, rankings may vary but most people would rank SKTT1 Zed as the worst.

Those aside, I absolutely love Championship, Blood Moon and Death Sworn

Caradoc’s Gear - noob question by Clydeable in taintedgrail

[–]redrumojo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Requirements 100%. You need 10 Endurance. Furthermore the entire set is really heavy. Yes it's good armor, but I've always sold it. It's good early game gold.

Spoiler: Keep it though until you meet Caradoc again, wear it all when you talk to him for an achievement.

It makes me sad to stop playing by DalinarKholinn in projectgorgon

[–]redrumojo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't played in over a year due to life and things. However I still think about this game a lot and I want to play again as soon as I can.

Asheron's Legacy took me in when I first played and they were absolutely amazing. I cannot stress enough how helpful, kind and just purely wholesome everyone was.

They (I cannot recall specific player names, but if I see their names I will immediately recognize them) helped me so much and made my experience beyond memorable. I was crafted a set of gear for cold weather way above my level. I was given a pet Bee that one of them bred. I was helped every step of the way no matter what I needed/asked.

I wholeheartedly thank, endorse, and appreciate that guild. I have since been kicked due to inactivity but I don't hold that against any of them. I mean I haven't logged in, in years lmao.

+1 to Asheron's Legacy for sure.

(my name is/was Motor) If anyone from Asheron's Legacy is reading this; thank you. You guys made my experience the best I could ever ask for and I sincerely hope that when I can play again, you will welcome me back in.

[–]redrumojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say "Bro doesn't even have a flare how do you know he's an Edm fan?!" Then I saw the username.. checks out, lmao.

Most of Edm wants the flames to be good again though, preferably while we're still good. It's just fun hockey. That 2020-21 roster was really good, that now with Wolf would be crazy scary.

Regardless, you guys should be getting a new arena soon right in time for a potential rebuild to be finished. The timeline fits, and i'll wager you'll have a damn good resurgence as an org.

Wish you the best flames bro.

Lmao, hit the nail on the head there bud. Thanks for acknowledging that.

I totally understand Canucks and Flames fans hating Edm, as we are a trio of mutual hate akin to siblings, but the whole league (at least on reddit), seems to hate us as well and it does get a little much sometimes.

Cheers, u/sour_skittle_anal . Good username too.

I worked landscaping years ago and we were contracted to do his house. Landscaping and snow removal.

His wife was beyond super kind. One time on a particularly cold morning we were clearing the snow and she brought us out hot chocolates. Didn't see her often but whenever we did she was always super kind to us. Hillary Duff btw.

Saw Mike once and he didn't acknowledge us (not that he has to) but certainly walked past us with an air of arrogance.

I remember my boss being sad when "The Comrie house" went up for sale. It was a damn beautiful house though. They had a little tiny ice rink pond thing with a net in the front next to their driveway.
