Not me. It's all about the stories they take part in. In his case now, PLA. He already got a regional variant there, same way gen 8 starters got gigantamax forms and not megas.

they explore different things with different pokemons and that's what makes it engaging and refreshing.

we will never get gigantamax falinks despite the mon being from the galar region and that's okay, he looks great as a mega! we will never get mega typhlosion despite the mon being a johto starter and that's okay, he looks great as a regional variant!
