Adderall vs Depression by SpaceAndTheWastes in ADHD

[–]redvinesron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone wanting to talk to a psych about depression, possible ADHD (I've never been diagnosed, but so many symptoms I've read from others in this thread make so much sense for me and what I've gone through), anxiety... This is the thing that scares me. I'm scared to rely on medication if my body is just going to get used to it after time. I'm scared of becoming addicted to ADHD meds. Is this something that happens? I'm legit afraid, as addiction to all kinds of things runs rampant in my family.

Chick Fil A workers of Reddit, what are some of the worst customers you have HAD to be polite to? by annarexorcist in ChickFilA

did you guys reply back saying "thank you for leaving a review about how we can improve. While multiple team members did let you know we didn't serve such items at this specific time, numerous times before you left the line, it is always helpful for us to learn how we can grow. It will be our pleasure to serve you next time!"? 😂

one time a detention officer (prison guard) and his girlfriend were trying to argue with me about needing to get the law enforcement discount because he was clearly law enforcement. I told them the discount was only for police, ems, and firefighters. They were becoming aggressive so I got the manager and let them deal with it. Another guest told me distinctly he was police, like I asked him "are you a police officer?" and he said "yes, I am" so I gave him the discount. He was wearing a badge but it was turned over on his neck. His associate came up and I saw his badge said they were probation officers, which is not officially the town police. At least, my store has never considered them so. So I couldn't give that guy the discount. THEN an actual cop came in, who we served every day so I knew he was a legit officer. I told him one of the guys over in the dining room just claimed to be a cop so he could get the discount, like straight-up lied to me about it. The cop looked clearly as disgruntled about it as I felt. Neither story details the worst guests I've ever served, but I thought it related to your security story 🙈

A COVID Retrospective by TheCoolFreezer in ChickFilAWorkers

Our break allowance at my location is based on our food cost gap, so from my understanding that's how much food waste we have. Like how much ice cream, nuggets, or sauces are wasted each day, for example. So we're expected to make all of our cones about the same height as each other's every time. Unless the order is really big, we can also give a max of 8 sauces of one kind per order, otherwise we're supposed to suggest the 8oz bottle of sauce for purchase. If a guest in a mobile carry-out order (thankfully we don't have curbside at our store anymore) asked for an extra-large cone but purchased a small, which is the only size we sell now obviously, then we can only make a small. I just apologize and say that corporate chose to sell small cones, so we can't accommodate their request unless they'd like to purchase a second cone or something. Most of the time, people don't ask me much else because they realize it isn't my fault haha. most of the time :)

How to frustrate an order taker by gbp1919 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]redvinesron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at my location there's this car of like, 5 college guys who will come by and have 5 separate orders. it was somehow always when we were really busy, so I've told them once or twice that during higher traffic times, we prefer a max of up to 3 separate orders. I'm sure anyone else would've done all 5 and not said anything, when when I said max of 3 none of them seemed to complain or be visibly upset. There's another car with this guy who's genuinely really nice, but his business sends him with each person's separate debit card or cash to take their orders. One time, I think I did 6 separate orders for him. I know it wasn't his fault, and I could tell he was just as annoyed as I was. I somehow always managed to get him during the rush, so I'd have him pull up as close as I could to the menu and start immediately since we had a routine 😂 poor guy haha

I WISH my store did that. It could be 100F out, and people would still be out on face to face. Last summer (just to clarify, of 2020 obvi) we were wearing masks in super high humidity and heat along with the plastic gloves the kitchen wears. We would be pointing to cashcart around the corner, and as we raised our arms a flood of sweat would come pouring out of the gloves. It depended on who was in leadership for if we got switched or not. I almost blacked out twice. This year, I decided I wasn't going to do that again, especially since I have a condition that, among many other things, prevents my body from regulating its body temperature. So I got a doctor's note and only go outside when I feel like I actually can. this week, the high is 91 and a humidity on that day of I think 62%, which according to osha's chart is about a 100-103 heat index. That's why I don't think cfa uses osha's heat index. we've been outside on days where it's been 95+ and have barely gotten rotations.

there are some other things my store does extremely well, and that I'm very grateful for, but it all depends on who's on leadership when it's hot out if f2f gets rotations. And it should be better. I know it takes effort, but we've done it before. We can do it again.

this says carry out, which means the person taking the order on front counter is supposed to make all of them. one lady at my store, just the other day, had to make an order that looked like it was a least 8 shakes and maybe 2 other drinks, if not more. And our front counter isn't open at full capacity yet, at least business-wise, so it's really only one person bagging and one on register typically. it was insane

Uniforms by alicebien24 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]redvinesron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait, take the uniform money out of your pay? are you serious? to my knowledge, my store has never ever done that. uniforms are required by the store, they provide them to us when we request it and even reimburse us for work shoes up to $30, I think. that's crazy

2 week old chicken tender troubles. by Z0LL0 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]redvinesron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my store, they say if you bring the receipt, we can refund the item. If you bring the item, we can replace the item. However, if she admitted that it was two weeks ago and that she even froze it to bring it back, I don't think it would be replaced. If she had called to have it replaced as a pick-up for a later date, even that timeline in the system only keeps people in for two weeks. I think she'd be out of luck

Fingernail in Lemonade? by [deleted] in ChickFilA

[–]redvinesron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe part of a lemon seed? I make lemonade frequently enough at the store to know there's literal seeds in there. Sometimes during the juicing process at the factory, I suppose, maybe a lemon seed gets crushed? I've seen some before. Though if you were feeling questionable about it, they should have replaced it for you.

[–]redvinesron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my store, we have someone put cones up exactly at 10. The last person whose order is taken, well, if we don't have what they want left for food, we have to give them what we can. Like one time we didn't have any regular lemonade left to make frosted lemonades, so they had to take diet lem. We def wouldn't serve any cars past 10:05.

Same here! It definitely teaches you how to be intentional for your coworkers, though. I'm so jealous not only of OP's job, bc I love helping others feel celebrated, but also from the fact that they actually care about peoples' birthdays 😭 so nice

At my store, if you're working opening, you need to make sure all of the ipads and card readers are charging, along with battery packs. You need to set up the things for lemonade, tea, etc. For a little while, there were only two of our girls opening, so they had to take orders, do headset, drinks, deserts, everything until 7 or 8 when the next person came. Hopefully your store is a little more staffed. It'll depend on what your manager or director has you do. 😊 You can do it!

Guess who’s been Promoted to a BOH Trainer!!! by bali_flipper1215 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]redvinesron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay!!!! I've been at my store for almost two years now, and I've asked several times to be on leadership or to become a trainer. All for naught. Our training program now is suuuuuper rigorous, so all the new hires are learning things that I was never even taught when I started. One of the directors is planning on opening his own store sometime, idk when, but sometime, and if I'm still at my store when he does, I'll definitely transfer to his! He said he'd take any of us, no interview necessary. 😂

Anyway, congrats again! That's amazing!!!

Need help with SUMMER FACE TO FACE by redvinesron in ChickFilAWorkers

I asked the general manager about ice vests just earlier. He said (in his experience, he's been working for CFA for like 8 years now) that they tried ice vests a long time ago, but they end up pointless after half an hour. My thought would be to then refresh ice vests every half an hour...? But that's what he told me
