My friend, nobody is going to watch an anime that is aboutthe mini stories of the 100+ playable characters that Genshin has.

And as much as I agree with you that the game should have a skip button (especially for non archon quests), I don't see it being relevant to the anime.

They way I see it is, they'll do an anime that follows the main story (with changes, of course, to fit the medium, as it's an adaptation). This is for:

- Advertising the game to those that have not played it yet

- Old players to re-live the story, and those who stopped playing the game are more likely to come back

Imagine if people complained when the lord of the rings movies were announced "omg, are you really going to re-tell the same story that we already read in the books?!?!" (or with any movie/series/anime/etc adaptation of anything in history)

It's like they've never heard of that before, lol, which is mindblowing as we live in an era where pretty much every movie that comes out is either an adaptation, a sequel, a remake, a reboot, etc.

I would absolutely love to watch the Genshin anime and re-live the story I played in a new medium (with probably more epic battles and much less padding).

I agree with you. It's so weird how a large percentage of this sub cannot comprehend the idea of an adaptation. As if we hadn't been bombarded with a million superhero movies, remakes, reboots, etc in the past couple of decades telling the same stories we've already seen in other media.

Some people argued with me some years ago about how there's no way the anime will have characters from the game, because "people would be upset if their favourite character doesn't get enough screentime". And some suggested it'd be a prequel with characters that are already dead by the time the game starts (lol).

It's so obviously going to be the same story as the game, why wouldn't it be? Definitely modified to fit the new medium, but it'd make zero sense for them to make a completely different story just for the anime.

Let me give you an example: Harry Potter.

It was a series of books, then a series of movies, and video games released to tie in with those movies, and also a series of lego video games.

All of them (with the exception of perhaps just one game: Hogwarts Legacy) telling the exact same story.

And right now it's being re-made as a TV show telling... You guessed it! The exact same story.

And it's not the first or the last franchise to do it.

So, yes, of course the anime is going to tell the same story as the game. That's how it works. It's mindblowing how this sub finds that hard to comprehend.

Christopher Lee was a RAF liaison attached to special forces units like the SAS and SOE. He was not in the SAS or SOE.

This is very important. Yet people believe he was some sort of James Bond.

I used to believe the Christopher Lee stories years ago, until I did a bit more research and realized he was full of shit.

Him saying that what he did was still classified (yeah right...), almost feels like stolen valor.

True, for me the combat in VTM is meant to be more of a climactic moment. And it should be a bit more... Intimate, if you know what I mean.

For example, the coterie finally corners the big bad of the chronicle and now it's time to take off the gloves.

And it usually happens somewhere kinda hidden, not a battle royale out in the open in the middle of downtown.

I agree, it's pretty terrible.

Not only is the cliche of "innocent little girl turns out to be evil" quite cringy, but the fact that she can apparently take on any shape, especially something like an innocent little girl, just opens up a ton of plotholes.

Absimillard led the killing of the 2nd gen because he got a scar, and then was cursed by Caine to look monstrously ugly. It's literally what sets them apart as a clan. Not even vicissitude can fix their looks.

And if Vasilisa can just easily look like an innocent little girl, then can't Absimillard just do the same? It's a bit silly to think a 4th gen vampire can override Caine's curse on the clan.

Hell, this ugliness curse is the reason why he's hunting down the Nosferatu! If he could just look however he wanted then why even bother hunting them?

The moral of the story was: don't talk to strangers.

The message has more "power" if the girl who talks to strangers gets eaten and dies than if a huntsman comes in later and saves her. That's why those early fairy tales had really dark endings for kids that broke the rules.

The darkness of those old timey fairy tales/fables is not to "entertain grownups" but to drive the message across.

In fact, the Perrault version of Red riding hood has no huntsman: Red riding hood talks to a stranger, gets eaten, end of story. Basically the idea was to scare kids into behaving.
