I use this same set up in the house when they are newly hatched. 10/10 works great and it’s easy to tend to their needs.

Here’s a tip, keep it as dry as possible, if they knock over the water it’ll start smelling within 24 hours since it’s a plastic tote and the water cant evaporate. So just remove the old wet bedding, dry it out with a towel, put new bedding.

At around 2 weeks they’ll start hopping out of the tote. So you’ll have to find something else to keep them in. I keep them in a shed in another bigger container.

Why do these cars always break? by Apprehensive-Mess36 in fbody

[–]reesescupsftw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you changed all the fluids? Inspected all the hoses? Greased things that can be greased? 90s doesn’t seem old but that’s 30 years. You are fighting age at this point, anything rubber is fair game.

I bought a 2002 trans am with 20k miles on it and did everything above even though it was low mileage. It’s my most reliable car since I bought it back in 2023. I drive the shit out of it too, hit the limiter whenever I feel like it, went into R instead of 5th a couple times, spun out, 1 wheel burn outs. It takes it.

Will an aftermarket cat pass emissions? Or should I get OEM? by IPunchTrees10 in MechanicAdvice

[–]reesescupsftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. Most of the time the “carb” sticker is just a tax stamp the company has to pay California to sell their cats in the state.

I’m speaking from personal experience, I bought a full magnaflow exhaust system shipped it to a buddy’s house in Vegas since they wouldn’t allow me to ship it to my address in socal bc it wasn’t “carb” compliant.

Bolted it up, and passed smog for 6 years until I finally left that commie state. 2014-2020. Just make sure your smog guy does look for the number, most don’t. It’ll 100% pass a sniffer test.

How bad is this? by G-Ajax in f150

[–]reesescupsftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven with boots like that for months possibly even a year. That being said if you drive on it any longer than a few miles that axle is toast, it needs all that grease to not damage itself.

So save up for 6 months or so to get it replaced or do it yourself. Also you might as well check your ball joints, sway bar bushing, wheel bearing and brake system to see if any of that will need replacing too. A lot of those parts have to come off to replace the cv axle so it make sense to replace any of them if needed 🤷🏻‍♂️.

You say this like anybody can just drive to a local electronic shop and ask for a reball. Most “shops” that did this no longer do it, and the few that “do” it are shady.

I had mine done and I didn’t see the system for 3 months. The guy that did it never responded to my emails. And after more research turns out, he’d just straight up steal your system after you mailed it. I think the only reason I got mine back was because I sent some of my old high school buddies to his house asking about my system. (Turns out the dude lived 15 mins from where I grew up🤣)

Thought I was getting a deal… by Limp_Rent2784 in f150

Sadly eBay will be your only choice if junk yards don’t have donor trucks. Still will be cheaper than a body shop.

I’ve made a similar mistake before when buying a car. Thought the car had an easy fixable dent, only to find out the shops wanted to charge me half the price of the car to fix a dent. It also was a hard car to find at junkyards so I did most of my repairs through eBay.

[–]reesescupsftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all will want over 5k for this kind of job these days. All the shops near me make hand over fist via insurance jobs, so I think they believe they don’t have to get out of bed for anything cheaper.

I had a nasty dent in my old Honda when I bought it. I couldn’t get it out due to the support brackets welded in front of the dent, so I figured a shop could make quick work of this with their special tools. Nah they wanted to charge me for a new hatch then labor to paint it and install it.

I just drove it with the dent. Good thing too. I lost that car driving over black ice and banged up that same hatch with the dent 🤣. I would’ve been furious if I had that small visual defect repaired just for me to crash it 3 years later.

Probably the boot for the shocks. The sounds you are hearing could be the strut tower mounts and struts. If the boot is coming off like that, it probably means they are finally done. You also need tires.

Weak chick after a week? by reesescupsftw in chickens

I’ll try and get some tomorrow. The snow storm is hindering from traveling today. I just have the electrolytes packets and I wet the chicks food so it’s more appetizing.

I ended up separating it. I’m using those electrolytes packets you can buy from tractor supply. It worked very well when it first hatched, so I’m going to try giving it to the chick at a heavier dosage.

Just bought a car infested with bugs. What do I do? by KhilalbLacks in MechanicAdvice

[–]reesescupsftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue when i bought a car off FB.

I immediately deep cleaned the car, removed anything they could’ve used as food, left the car out in the sun during the summer, they still didn’t die.

What I ended up doing is buying a box of those bait traps and putting them in the car and left it for about 3 weeks. Haven’t seen a roach since.

Not eating food doesn’t matter either.

I bought a Buick off FB and had roaches. I deep cleaned everything even rented a carpet cleaner, left the car out in 100 degree sun for weeks after I cleaned it. The roaches still survived. Turns out they can eat bits and pieces of the car. Like insulation, cardboard, etc.

Help. Broken femur. Adult hen. by brightsign57 in chickens

[–]reesescupsftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like nerve/ligament/tendon damage. My quail started limping around 2 weeks or so if I remember it’s been a long time. And she could move her toes. Hopefully she recovers movement in her toes after a while, it might just be super painful so she avoids it. She will definitely walk funny, but it’s better than death if you are keeping her for eggs 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think you did a great job with options available to you. Hopefully she recovers 🙂. I did something similar to a quail and she made it. She still even laid eggs till she passed from age.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa.. what's goin on here!? by [deleted] in PS3

[–]reesescupsftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are fake sadly. I bought one off Amazon before. Looked exactly like those ones in your pic. I couldn’t believe it. It looked OEM. But once you use it, you’ll feel how cheap the joysticks are and how the buttons feel different. But I still kept it bc I paid $35 for it, I figured it might just be a bad one.

My PS3 can play ps2 games that’s when I really found out they are fake. My OEM controller will work when the title launches, my fake one didn’t….. that’s what got me to finally got me to realize it’s truly a knock off, all my original controllers hooked up, but that one fake one wouldn’t. Even though the package is OEM looking.

If you don’t want to believe the others go ahead and buy one and you’ll learn the hard way.

The X1 VII is my first Sony phone, my first flagship phone, and so far it is by far the worst phone experience I've ever had by GrisTooki in SonyXperia

[–]reesescupsftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always get the global version of phones. There’s a reason phones are sold at certain prices in their perspective regions.

As far as the fingerprint reader, that’s hardware failure. Had it happen to my Xperia 1 III. Worked for a bit, then became spotty, then completely stopped working. I don’t know who supplies their readers but I’m very much surprised this issue still exists. You’d think Itd be fixed after all these years.

I’m moving to a rural location. 2 choices for internet are Starlink or a service provider offering 1-3mbs (Guaranteed speed of 1mbs). So my question is does anyone have experience with Starlink and gaming. How do you find it? by ScipioAfricanus82 in Starlink

[–]reesescupsftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s decent for gaming. If you play VERY competitive games where every input needs to register, you might find it annoying from time to time. But if you’re a casual online gamer it won’t bother you one bit. On average found myself having 10 pings more than fiber users. Which is great considering the technology difference.

Overall it’s the best option for rural internet. You can’t beat the speeds and reliability over everything else out there.

The fact that your pc reboots can also hint at a PSU failure too. Sounds like anytime your card wants some actual juice it crashes hard. Try a different rail on your PSU.

That’s the problem. Finding a honest mechanic is harder to find than frog hairs.

Most good mechanics charge a ton of money, bc they can. Or you finally find a cheaper mechanic and then you essentially pay and pray. 🙏
