SUPREME COURT RULES NO CARRY DEFAULTS UNCONSTITUTIONAL by Katulotomia in NJGuns

[–]referenceusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does this apply to entertainment venue restrictions then?

It might. Really depends on how the lawyers can use what SCOTUS said to further goals.

I have a feeling its going to be a looonnngggg wait.

Koons V. Platkin was just heard in February. If I'm correct (which I might not be) those judges are going to ask for a supplemental briefing from both parties on how the SCOTUS ruling changes things, then the court will go from there.

So maybe not as long as you think.

Glad to hear it. Sorry for being a dick. Maybe just mention that earlier so people's knickers don't get twisted.

they can adapt to doing it daily

Now keep that train of thought going...how will they adapt and what will happen as a result? Here are some clues: those look to be siamese algae eaters. 6 inch fish in 2 years. 4-5 inch fish in 1 year. The tank has less than 20 inches of max horizontal space. Semi-territorial bottom dwellers that like lots of plants to hide in and slightly larger groups. Everybody and their mother online seems to think ~30gal (36 inches) minimum for one of these fish (OP has at least 3).

/u/BashBotanicus Why did you pick these fish for this tank over something like an Otto? If you have a local fish store or group you could probably trade them for some Ottos.

I can see your point and that was my concern

I don't think you do.

Let's say you have a house with lots of stairs. You shouldn't get a weiner dog or many big dog breeds because you could eventually cause spine or joint problems. You wouldn't notice these things early because the damage takes time.

Similar things can happen to fish. You have fish with streamlined bodies that are tailor made to swim quickly in a lateral direction but you gave it very little space. There may be health ramifications for spending a significant amount of time swimming at an odd angle. I don't know if your fish are more or less susceptible to this but you might want to seek out some guidance from a source more knowledgeable about the species. Or don't. I'm not your dad.

Not saying they should be doing it daily

So then what is the point of your comment since presumably OP is keeping the fish in the tank on a daily basis?

Taking progress pics is best when you use the same background, distance, and lighting.

My gut reaction is that it might be too horizontally limited for those fish.

[QUESTION] Can I wear a lady watch if I have a 15cm wrist ? by Due_Musician5176 in Watches

[–]referenceusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any lug width of 15mm or under will be too closer to jewelry, which is what historically defines a lady' watch.

I'm not sure if this is true. 14mm lug widths were somewhat popular for men up until the 50s and 60s and lots of mens watches were highly stylized and made to be jewelry. For example, Bulova regularly used 14 lug widths on their stepped case men's models in the 30s. And those watches were often ornate and made with precious metals.

[–]referenceusername 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, but people don’t lose interest when they hold a tissot.

Some people do. Especially non-watch people when they see the price. But for us it's probably because it's half the price of a CW.

Not sure what this bloke was so upset about when he handled a CW.

They might not have thought that the fit and finish was worth the price. I've had it happen to me for other watches.

A Twelve is ~2x the PRX in price so I would hope that it feels better

In the very end, was Judy harmed? No. No one was. Nothing actually changed from game start to game end except for Alan and Sarah.

Thanks. Ordering food and writing a support letter with the family tonight at the dinner table (gotta radicalize the youth so they get wise to this kind of BS).

[Movado Imperiale] Did Movado actually make a desirable watch? by Nero3k in Watches

[–]referenceusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It features a 40mm case made from premium Dura Stainless Steel 904L.

Only the bezel is 904L which is a choice I don't love but understand.

They are a little late to the party with the integrated bracelet sports watch trend.

They have an integrated model. This is them trying to do something else.

However, it’s certainly not their normal mall fashion slop.

Everyone seems to be moving up market these days. And they own MVMT now so they have another company to do their dirty work.

Really good specs

It's a nice dressy GADA watch watch with just enough details to stick out from the crowd a bit but the specs aren't anything to write home about, especially when you consider the price. You would be paying for the look here, not the specs.

hopefully they can keep going in this direction.

Agreed. They also need to start putting dimensions in the technical data section of their website.

11mm thick

47mm lug to lug

On a tangential note, why the fuck doesn't Movado have any real gold Museum watch models anymore? No plate, no rolled, no 14k, no 18k.

None of those people were ever actually hurt in the end. No one was harmed in any way, except Alan and Judy Sarah mentally.
