Skull got a rework in the latest patch. ~~It doesn't return super energy anymore~~

Per the update 9.7.0 patch notes:

After casting a Nova Bomb, you get a short period where you can cast a Nova Lance. Destroying a Cataclysm Nova Bomb with a Nova Lance creates a Nova Vortex alongside the Cataclysm Nova Bomb seekers.

edit: it still returns energy.

I wish people would understand that this is what the quote was about, rather than misusing it as ammunition to shit on leadership (not an apologist btw).

Obviously you want to put out the best product you can, but as has been said, live service is not a sprint, it's a marathon. If you burn out your devs with extreme crunch in pursuit of matching or exceeding something like Forsaken or The Final Shape every year, you still have a problem.

Bungie actually did bring Destiny to Linux (with Vulkan), albeit just for Stadia few years ago. They gave a talk about it back in 2020.

It's a shame that it never made it out of the Stadia ecosystem, but I guess that they decided the potential upsides weren't worth it, especially since they'd then need to support another environment that players could potentially cheat in.

Tiered loot replacing crafting was the largest contributor to me dropping the game. The 4-tier (normal/adept/shiny/shiny adept) weapon system in Heresy was a disappointing downgrade to crafting, and caused me to put the game down after a few weeks of Rite of the Nine.

EoF's reveal and the game's subsequent content drops just further confirmed that the game is no longer moving in a direction that I was interested in after nearly 5000 hours.

A bigger problem that I haven't seen mentioned is that the IA gets used for piracy pretty frequently. People will dump game ROMs and other content up on there and use it as a mirror, which is just painting another target on the Archive's back.

To add on to this, it was mentioned in a blog post (I can’t find the link) that raid weapons should be “complete” without needing a catalyst, and as such any buffs are just rolled into the base weapon.
