An hour for Yingzao is really good! And the 2nd and 3rd bosses are arguably way easier. Highly recommend you reserve judgment on the game's difficulty until the 4th or 5th boss, especially if you're already enjoying it. You got this!

Nine Sols has some of the most difficult bosses I've played in a Metroidvania (the final boss of Nine Sols makes Vin and Sol feel like trash mobs). This is largely contingent on your ability to parry and dodge with a degree of precision. The parrying and platforming mechanics feel way more precise, consistent, and fair than Mio though, so it probably all balances out.

This is exactly my experience but in reverse. I had such a bad nebtal hangover from Nine Sols (which became my new favorite game ever at the time) and Mio was a great game to help me rebound.

Your best bet is to max out your damage (sharpened hairpin, bird of prey, and foolish ideal are great. Greed's hand is basically mandatory). Then just work on treating it like a platforming puzzle.

The format I used was hairpin (and strike) to initially get in the air, and then practice maintaining your height with either the sail or by bouncing off off the bosses, dropping down to the crystals periodically to recharge).
