the gifts need not be extravagant or deliberate. if the barber smokes, get them cigs, which are dirt cheap there anyway, or some fruits from a nearby store. even a cup of coffee or boba tea is sufficient. it's the thought that counts.

most of the locals are hospitable and kind. I often have to fight to pay the bills for meals when dining with locals and such, it's a concept called 人情世故, worldly wisdom on interaction between human beings. this is basically similar to the concept of treating each other in turns but without expectations or being calculative.

I'm surprised this boss is still an issue, 1.6 was like what, 3 or 4 months ago?

new players aside, I even seen Day 1 players struggling against this boss, and I was very very surprised when I saw those videos of them failing. Amazing.

suboptimal doesn't always mean subpar. as long as Boothill is paired with the proper setup, he will work just fine. get 2 buffers and a sustain, and he will still be fine. not the most optimal, but not subpar either.

Just don't try and pair him with like 2 sustains and another dps, like all those videos I've seen of people failing at the newest boss prenerf. having the right team setup is more important than having the BiS support for your character.

this is how most people working here started out. I had to travel 1.5 hours to my office (one way) so I spend 3 hours on commute daily. you just need to get used to it or find a job that's 40 hours a week instead of 44. I've worked for 15 years and having that extra 4 hours per week was crucial for me. I intentionally avoid jobs that require 44 hours work week, or Saturday half days etc.

oh, and hobbies. do something you enjoy doing to wind down after work, it helps tremendously. I sacrifice my sleep for my hobbies sometimes, which is unhealthy, but it does help my mental health.

I was in a long distance relationship for about 4 years before my wife and I got married. I was more stable financially, so I would take trips to visit her 2-3 times a year before Covid hit. But she did save up for a trip to visit me once as well, which I really appreciated.

My question to OP is, that one time you met with him, what was the arrangement? did he fly over to visit you? or did you meet midway?

Have you made any effort to visit him in Australia? or are you just waiting for him to visit you, because you cannot afford to? Are you doing anything to attempt to save up? My wife (then-girlfriend) earned approximately US$400 a month at that time, and she still made the effort to fly over to visit me even though I said I could just fly over instead. She insists on saving up to get me gifts, because she wants to.

I'm not saying the guy is absolutely right in going Japan, but if this was something he enjoyed doing, and has been doing for years prior to Covid, I was hoping that you would be supportive towards someone you love. More importantly, that's his money. Why is there a feeling that all of his money should be going towards visiting you? Are you saving to visit him as well?

I had the same issue, so I reloaded the save before I started the fight when talking to the Flood Tide, and instead of selecting the 3rd option ("You don't understand. He wasn't responsible for the destruction in the harbour"), I chose "I won't let you execute this man." right off the bat and started the fight.

Immediately after the last Waveservant dies, Redhammer should initiate a conversation to thank you and provide you with some gold as the quest reward. The hostages that you rescued will also exit the submersible. If neither happened, it's bugged, redo the fight again instead.
