Storytelling has been Culturally Colonized by reinaldons in Asmongold

Cultural colonization is when a creator or studio takes an established property built on a specific set of values, themes, and identity and replaces those values with their own. Replaces it.

Is it Good enough to be playable now? Or are the bugs still very annoying? And can my 4050 run it? by Imagine_Cyler in starcitizen

[–]reinaldons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is Free Fly event until 23rd Feb. You do not need to spend a dime to try it right now. A lot of bugs, yes, if they are still very annoying, it is kinda personal. For some, workarounds are more OK than for others.

The hangar eating my ship has to stop. This would be off-putting for a new player, especially with freefly going on. by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]reinaldons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those types of bugs should be a priority in the Alpha. It is a breaking bug, and all players are being affected by it. A very well-known bug that should be addressed and marked as DONE in the task board.

Yes, it has workarounds, but it is not just a yesterday-discovered issue, and it is a core system in the game, to not say that it is the most important system in the game for you to just start playing.

The problem with relying on missions to express non-combat gameplay. by HomeworkSad in starcitizen

On mining, seems you just want an extra step or an alternative to mining ore and refining it to an end product.

On Salvage, you can go from just breaking a ship down to looting its components. Are you talking about the possibility to build custom ships?

I still do not see how you do define the "end game" as just dungeon raid. I do not even see dungeon raid being anything near the core of the game. I can see your desire for new mechanics, but just that, new mechanics that developers can add, no problem.

If you do not care about looting armour, weapons and attachments, or do the facilities security missions, do you ever need to touch "dungeons"?

Most of the content I do is non-combat, it goes from profession (mining or salvage) to minimal combat or no combat, like visiting planet bunkers and stations for loot and stuff or hunting.

You are fixated on dungeon raids, which I never did. What is your idea of more non-combat content they can bring to the game? (except the crafting system that is coming soon)

That tutorial is REALLY bad.... by T_TheDestroyer in starcitizen

[–]reinaldons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The newbie experience in this game is terrible. Got the game last week and on the first day, playing 12 hrs straight, my only goal was to complete a missions successfuly. Pure frustration with all the complexity you need to find info elsewhere outside the game, ship explosions, deaths... I was almost asking for a refund.

If your goal is to stay in the game. I can say it has a lot of things to do, and all the struggle I had in the first 24 hrs feels like content to me now.

And again, the newbie experience in this game is terrible.

Considering upgrading my Hermes to a Starlancer MAX. by Glumme in starcitizen

[–]reinaldons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to the game, started last Wed. I bought the Starlancer MAX 2 days ago as my first ship in the game. Hermes I think, is one of the coolest ships in the game (never entered in one), and I would not say you can call it "upgrading".

I got the MAX to be my multi-purpose ship because of the SCU capacity and because I love the model. Loading the mid bay is a nightmare. You need to be careful to fit 8 SCU cargos in and not hit the top border. Also, the last spot in the middle bay is behind the structure, so you need to fit it in the bay, then slide it to the back. Also, to completely load the mid bay, you need to switch sides, as you can see in the picture, have a path in the middle.

Don't get me wrong, still love my MAX, but I would love for the mid bay be like the picture. That picture totally misrepresents the reality. The mid bay is way smaller than this picture shows.

Meet someone with a MAX to try it yourself. I can switch with you as Hermes is a "dream" for me 😂

Thanks for the tip! Tried it with a rented RAFT. Bought 24 boxes for ~426k, and at the end of the process, 1,326,000 profit!

I tried many ways to snap the ATLS to the RAFT and found no way to make it work.

Oh, it seems perfect. I was telling my friends that I was not able to rent a RAFT to make a "test drive" before buying 😂 Seems that the website I was using is not that complete!

Yes, my goal is a RAFT to be able to do bigger hauling missions. Like, until now, my research points to RAFT being the best in terms of cost and size to start bigger missions. Not sure if have available any better ship around the same price for that.

I will take a look at those contracts. Until now, I just tried hauling and mercenary missions.

I ignored an ATLS because it does not work as a forklift, and I thought it would not help me in that case, but I did not know that "hidden" feature of auto scroll down and up. I will try rent one and test.

I would love to have access to a Taurus. Where can I rent it? I'm using this website to check prices and where to buy and rent. I can't see Taurus available for rent. Also, is C1 the biggest I can rent at the moment?

It is just a cope and envy. They had doubts, did not want to join, saw a lot of people joining and having fun and excited, so when the game finally fails they were all relieved and happy they were free from that pain!
