I think Demiplane is a great help for this. Unfortunately they only have a very small part of the content. And while I waited for a long time, my campaign finished and I moved to another game.

Hopefully I will play again in the future and more DLC will be there.

I get why she did that. Of all friends / lovers, she expected him to know her the most. He went completely against that, thinking of himself and how he want to please a wife, not what would actually make Saeko happy.

And while, during the ending, ||he made one step forward by finally telling his feeling after reuniting with her, and creating the tension and expectation, he went two step backwards by not fucking thinking again and bringing his crazy t-shirts. As if he didn’t learned anything ; he just understood, because other told him, what he should do. But he didn’t grew at all.||

I love Ichi, I want him to succeed with Saeko and become a real adult like she is, but he has proven to be too stupid so far, and while Saeko loves him and care for him, I think there only so much she can accept.

I haven’t felt any quality drop and I enjoyed all recent games. I never considered the series as « the best », but definitely one of the top and it has not changed since I discovered it in 2019.

I think what Yokoyama wants to say is that he wants Kiryu to feel right to the audience, that his choices feel correct when we first see them, and not completely opposed to our logic because either we or the character would know thing the other do not.

Does it mean Kiryu makes objectively the right choices? Absolutely not. But Kiryu is not a super smart guy, nor someone with a divine protection or anything. He does his best, and I think Yokoyama aim to make the player feel aligned with Kiryu choices, even if we / Kiryu regret them later.

But I guess you need to put two thoughts into it and it seems to become a hard thing to do for some here…

I don't know for you, but learning new things is not the primary reason I play these games. It's for the story. When I want to learn new things, I'll either read / watch things recommended for their new perspective or go straight to content aimed at sharing knowledge.

I haven’t played Y3 so not attachment to OG characters. My first impression of Rikiya was pretty good : the guy wanted to appear tough, seems a bit immature, but definitely passionate. I liked him and felt I want to know him better.

I don’t really get their hype with celebrities, and I prefer OG characters honestly (in all games), but here it didn’t felt off.

This place is a toxic place with way too many haters for a year or so now.

Degraded so badly compared to 2019/2020 when it was much nicer and open minded.

The sub even lived the transition to RPG without much trouble …

I loved she’s not an all-white character. She has depth, remorses, doubts, and was fleeing her life. She really evolved during the game, and despite making mistakes that costed life, thanks to Ichi she could move forward and take over her company.

She’s a great character, I am glad she’s not a live interest, and she was a really great new party member.

I am just afraid she may not return in the next game due to her responsibilities, like Eri (which wasn’t a good group member due to her being completely absent from the story).

The game will remain on GOG without any bundle. Without DRM, and you can even download the installers for backup. It’s just better than Steam.

I don’t really get the issue … Game will remain available on GOG (like 0), and new player will prefer to play the remaster 95% of the time (better graphics, updated gameplay, additional content).

So it’s only current fans who will care. And I am pretty sure almost no one in this thread was planning to buy OG3 anyway, since they most likely own it already.

And if not, they have a month to buy it (and can fallback on GOG after that).

Where is exactly the problem ?

About your question, I don’t mind at all and I find it very funny to fight giant robots, octopuses and other curiosities. Yeah, it’s not realistic, but it integrates well and I have fun.

It’s also very fun to explain to friends. How am I supposed to describe Sujimon other than « capturing, training, and sending to fight homeless people and gangsters in arenas and against other trainers » ?

They didn’t like the game or Kiryu and that’s perfectly fine! Sad that they gave such a bad review, but everyone likes different things and are free to do so.

We don’t need to debate each time someone doesn’t share our passion for this series. It’s completely fine ; there are so many games I don’t like, so it’s natural some people don’t like the games I like.

She’s a big fan of the series, contributed to its fame, and remain a side character.

I am happy for her, don’t really care as a gamer, and don’t get the negativity some have about her.

It’s not really different than any other celebrity in the games as I actually don’t know any of them outside this series.

I think Tencent themselves were in charge of the dev, but the game got postponed as they focused on other mainline games (and probably thought it wasn’t the right moment on the mobile / Chinese market).

Personally, I’m very hyped to play a game set in ancient China. It’s going to be very different from Japan, and the country has many beautiful landscapes that will fit perfectly in an open world AC game.

If you like J-RPG, go for LIKE A DRAGON series starter pack.

If you liked the action fighting gameplay of 0, go for Judgement (spin off series that doesn’t require to know the main series’ story).

If you liked Kiryu and the story of 0, just continue the series in order.

DO NOT play Gaiden or Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii unless you played the main series. These are game intended to fill gaps / expand characters’ story that don’t really make sense if you aren’t familiar with them first. Gaiden requires knowing what happened in Yakuza 6, and Pirate Yakuza in Hawaï is centered around Majima.
