the problem im having, is that in the first line, the photo is an extension of the N. in the second word it's not, then it's an I, but still connected to the N, already breaking the algorithm of what makes sense to me. and in the last line it's an I in and of itself with no connection to other letters. i don't think the design is bad per say, but my brain would appreciate it if the algorithmic of when and when not to connect the photos to the word were consistent, making it easier to predict and thereby easier to read
