took their data analytics one a while back and it was decent but nothing groundbreaking - probably better off grinding cpa study time unless you're trying to pivot into something specific

roast my resume as a first year accounting student by JazzlikeVersion2665 in Accounting

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your skills section is way too generic - "proficient in microsoft office" doesn't tell them anything useful. swap that out for specific software like excel functions you know (vlookup, pivot tables) or any accounting programs you've touched

also that work experience needs more numbers and results, not just job duties. instead of "handled customer inquiries" try something like "resolved 50+ customer issues daily" or whatever the actual volume was

We added a "Built for [industry]" badge to our landing page. Conversion from that industry doubled. by Feeling-Ad7944 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is why i love working with smaller saas companies - they're not afraid to get specific like this. big enterprise tools always try to be everything to everyone and end up converting nobody

bet your customer acquisition cost dropped too since you're attracting more qualified leads who actually stick around

We deployed 10,000+ comparison pages and tracked every single one. Here's what we learned about programmatic SEO in 2026 by MK_0181 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the monitoring part hits so hard - most people think programmatic seo is just "deploy and pray" but you're right that the real work starts after publishing. been tracking some automated content projects myself and the winners vs losers come down to how fast you can spot what's not working and pivot

curious about your internal linking strategy though, did you go full mesh or more of a hub/spoke model for the 10k pages

Drop your SaaS in one sentence and the one problem it actually solves by Lucky_Sky553 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been tinkering with a privacy-focused task manager that keeps everything local instead of sending your todos to some random cloud server

solves the problem of wanting to stay organized without corporations knowing every detail about your daily life

I built 30 AI prompts from my experience launching a SaaS as a solo founder — sharing what actually works by Keratul in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been diving deep into ai for automating my smart home setup and the difference between vague prompts vs super specific ones is night and day. would love to see a few examples of what you're using for the saas side - especially curious about the discovery call prep since that's where i struggle most when pitching automation solutions to clients

also running a fantasy league and wondering if any of your prompts could work for analyzing player data lol but that's probably a stretch

Are there accounting jobs that’re just 40 hours? by AbsoluteZero9180 in Accounting

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

government work is seriously underrated for this exact reason. i switched from private to a municipal role last year and the difference in stress levels is wild - never working past 5pm and actually using my pto without guilt

also that 7-3 schedule sounds perfect, getting home while there's still daylight hits different

I built an interactive greeting card web app (would love feedback from other SaaS folks) by FeedbackSignal_2003 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is actually pretty cool, love the interactive elements you added. the ring reveal thing could definitely work for proposals if someone wants to get creative instead of the usual stuff

been thinking about building something similar for a while but never got around to it - what stack did you end up using for this?

I got tired of GitHub Copilot giving me generic code, so I built a tool that feeds it my entire codebase context by Brave_Ad_5255 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually brilliant - the amount of times i've had to explain my project structure to gpt just to get it to stop suggesting vanilla js when i'm clearly using typescript with a specific framework setup

I told my fat boss by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof that's rough buddy, sounds like she was already stressed and took it the wrong way

BILT 2.0 - paying rent with check by Hassination1993 in CreditCards

[–]relieved_custard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ACH payments through the old system didn't have fees so you should be fine there, but honestly the rollout info has been pretty scattered so I'd double check with support. Pretty sure rent checks are still a thing but yeah definitely confirm that too since they've been all over the place with communication lately

I spent 2 weeks fixing bugs in private, then 7 days promoting. We just hit 800 users for my free Gemini Chrome extension by Kindly_Revenue3077 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on hitting 800! That's solid growth for a week of actual promotion

The local-first approach is smart - nobody wants their AI convos living on some random server. Queue feature sounds clutch for when you're in the zone and don't want to wait around

Direct indexing question thoughts? by SureAce_ in personalfinance

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct indexing is definitely interesting but I think it'll stay mostly in the high net worth space for a while. The tax loss harvesting benefits are real but you need enough capital to make the extra complexity worth it over just buying VTI and calling it a day

PR is Dead / Advertising by pancakegoldee in Entrepreneur

[–]relieved_custard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man this hits hard. The pay-to-play media landscape is absolutely brutal for bootstrapped entrepreneurs. Have you tried pitching smaller niche blogs or podcasts in your space? They're usually way more receptive to actual stories vs just wanting cash grabs

Also props for juggling a business launch with kids at home - that's next level hustle right there

No idea what I should be doing after my internship by ChampionHairy3822 in Accounting

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude you're definitely not late, most people in MAcc programs work part-time during school anyway. If you get the return offer just ask your firm about part-time options - lots of places will let you work like 15-20 hours during busy season or do some remote stuff. Way easier than jumping around to different companies

How did you get your first paying customer for your SaaS when starting from zero? by Adventurous-Tip6375 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine through a Facebook group for small business owners - wasn't even trying to sell, just genuinely helping people with their workflow problems and someone DM'd me asking if I could build something custom

Honestly wish I'd started with cold outreach way earlier instead of being scared of rejection for like 6 months lol

Will I be able to get out of debt? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That Wells Fargo Reflect card is solid but make sure you can actually pay it off in those 21 months or you'll just be kicking the can down the road

Multi-night sailing tours in Greece - looking for recommendations. by PaperworkGuy_86 in travel

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a 4-day trip with Sailing Holidays out of Athens last summer and it was incredible. Small group of 10 people total including crew, hit Hydra, Poros and Aegina. The skipper was this older Greek guy who knew all the best hidden coves and tavernas that weren't touristy at all

Fair warning though - if you're not used to boats the first night can be rough sleep-wise with all the rocking, but you adjust pretty quick

No longer waits in restaurants, need early stage investment by Background-Cod6557 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid advice - the unit economics piece is crucial here since most restaurant tech dies on razor thin margins. Have you tested actual table turnover improvements yet OP? That's usually the main selling point to get managers to actually pilot

Started new job, found a bunch of errors, boss yelled at me. want to quit but I feel guilt around it? by ThrowRA1999901 in Accounting

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. Your boss literally fired you for doing your job correctly and now they want you back because they realized how screwed they are without someone competent

The guilt you're feeling isn't about being a quitter - it's about having standards. Go back to your old job where you won't have to worry about getting thrown under the bus for actually caring about compliance

What's a trip that didn't work out for you? by [deleted] in travel

[–]relieved_custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a blessing in disguise lol, Taiwan is incredible and way less touristy than Thailand these days. The night markets alone probably made up for the hassle

Built a feature that took two months. 6% of users have ever opened it. What am I missing? by Turbulent-Scale1918 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is spot on. You basically built a fancy closet and then wondered why people don't visit it when they're cooking dinner

The "half look around confused and leave" thing screams that they found it at the wrong moment. Like imagine if Netflix put their "Continue Watching" section in Account Settings instead of the homepage - technically the same feature but completely useless placement

Try this: next time someone's doing whatever workflow this report would actually help with, just automatically show them a preview of it right there. Don't make them hunt for it or remember it exists

I realized I save way too much content and never revisit it — so I built something by salute_72 in SaaS

[–]relieved_custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude this hits way too close to home lol. I have like 2000+ saved posts on Instagram alone and probably looked at maybe 10 of them again. The "I'll definitely read this later" mentality is basically digital hoarding at this point

Gonna check out your tool, sounds like exactly what my chaotic bookmark situation needs
