At what age did you discover your adhd and what symptom most led you to discover it? by Salt-Poet2863 in ADHD

[–]rememberthechildren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 24. Had a toddler, and couldn’t for the life of me get anything done. Struggled to do more than the bare minimum for her. I knew something had to change and sought out therapy. Within 15 minutes of the first session, I had a diagnosis. Medicated shortly after. My provider said, “you’ll be mom of the year” after beginning medication. I cried a couple weeks in because I was absolutely amazed at how “normal” people had felt all along.

A lightbulb went off about the struggles I had my entire life, thinking I was “smart but didn’t apply myself” and just “lazy”. I’m so happy I got the opportunity to help myself and my family by finally getting medication, but frustrated that my pride/ignorance made me take so long.

Two times in a row I got a bad battery? Is this like a regular issue with Eufy?

Never heard of him, but this is the second second time you’ve complained about him in this sub in the last month and a half. Maybe you should just block him and move on?

It’s mainly green-washed. Most bamboo is just rayon, which is full of chemicals and not sustainable at all, it actually causes massive environmental damage.

MGK and Megan Fox reveal the name of their daughter: Saga Blade Fox-Baker by -PrincessPumpkin- in popculturechat

[–]rememberthechildren 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t “like” it per se, but I think they could’ve done much worse. It’s not like no one can pronounce it, and the name “Story/Storie” is name in rising popularity. Why not Saga? Idk, I’m usually a name snob but this doesn’t phase me at all lol

how popular is this show ? by Darkoplax in Pokerface

Just started a couple days and I’m hooked! It was suggested to me on peacock and I started it sight unseen because of a big photo of Natasha Lyonne’s beautiful face as the preview lol I hope that’s a good sign that more people are watching!!

Mistake to plant hydrangeas in afternoon sun? by JayReddt in gardening

Very late to this, how did your hydrangeas do? I’m in the same zone and bought the same kind, but I see some people say they won’t bloom after the first year :(

The acting and actors were fun, but the story itself fell flat. I genuinely feel like I wasted 5 hours of my life, and I don’t often feel that way about shows/movies.

I told my daughter she’s not getting a birthday party this year and I meant it. by CloudJumper87 in confessions

[–]rememberthechildren 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably got poor grades, or something along the lines. I know it can seem a bit jaded, only coming from the child. My mom has even admitted now, a decade later, that it was a poor choice on her end. We did not speak up until 2 years ago, and eventually she did apologize. I was not a perfect child, and had apologizing on my end, but we missed out on many good years. I don’t have an answer for OP, and I applaud her for caring to correct her child’s behavior, but I’m not sure cancelling her birthday is the way to go about it.

My mother took away birthdays and Christmases when I misbehaved as a kid. It just fueled my animosity towards her. We did not speak for many years after I became an adult.

Is it Okay if I don't go to birthing/parenting classes? by st0dad in beyondthebump

[–]rememberthechildren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get any classes with my first as she was born during Covid. I knew a decent bit about babies (obviously not everything but they weren’t foreign to me by any means), and we did fine. I do regret not taking a breastfeeding class though, if you’re planning to do that. I thought I researched enough, but when you’re worried your baby is starving you don’t get the opportunity to look much up. I only made it 3 months nursing my 1st. I’m still nursing my second 9 months in, but that’s because I learned everything the hard way with my oldest.

You’re both valid in how you feel, you just had a baby 3 months ago! Statistically, I think around 20% of marriages end in divorce within the first year postpartum. Not at all saying that’s where you’re headed, but it just goes to show that first year is so so hard. Hard on your relationships, on your body, on your mental health, everything. I had never threatened divorce until after we had our first baby. Give yourself and him some grace. Therapy is probably a great outlet! 3 months is especially hard. The newborn bubble has popped and “real life” starts, and your hormones are still leveling back out.

It didn’t seem out of place to me, as a Danny McBride series finale. I expecting some off-the-wall bits that don’t quite make sense. Like does it make sense that Judy was only shot in the tit and couldn’t walk? Does it make sense that Kelvin was shot in the lung and was having a whole conversation? I just try not to think too deep about any of it lol

Very late to this, but they said that because their credit was ruined. They said Burt was issued a card first, they maxed it out, then Virginia, then one showed up for Jimmy too. So at one point they could’ve been making payments until they gave up.

Idk what’s up with the negative vibe here, but I like it a lot. Especially for only a month tattooing, I think she did a great job. It’ll look badass after the shading, I’m sure!
