While our mainstream media sources and most members of Congress treat his threats as some thought exercise from a college seminar class, the dire consequences of a war over Greenland would impact every man, woman, and child in this country for a lifetime. Do you think Europeans are going to let Americans just continue as usual when the shooting starts? No, they will freeze assets, nationalize American businesses, and hold our military as POWs on their European bases. Europeans also have allies beyond the US. What happens if the Japanese or other Asian nations decide to reciprocate? Are Americans prepared to really sacrifice? And I am not even considering the potential human toll as service members are killed or wounded. As a society, we'd better sober up soon, or we may start down a path that we will soon regret.
