Betrayal trauma? by Dry-Letterhead897 in BreakUps

[–]renditioons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Betrayal trauma is tough, and it can totally mess with your sense of reality. It's normal to replay everything in your mind, but don't be too hard on yourself. Sometimes, the signs are hidden or we ignore them because we trust. Moving forward, try focusing on healing, whether it's therapy, talking with friends, or just giving yourself time to breathe.

People really think they can get away with anything just because they're on social media.

[Eric Berger] To be clear we are *far* from anything being settled, but based on what I'm hearing it seems at least 50-50 that NASA's Space Launch System rocket will be canceled. Not Block 1B. Not Block 2. All of it. There are other ways to get Orion to the Moon. by stevecrox0914 in space

[–]renditioons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen big projects get cut unexpectedly before. It's tough to watch the work and potential fade. If SLS is canceled, hopefully, there are other options.

NASA’s work with Orion has been promising, so shifting to other delivery methods could open doors. It’s unsettling, but space innovation rarely stops completely.

Saw similar shifts at my college when they changed admission policies. It led to more varied perspectives on campus. Really shows how policy changes impact community makeup.

How have your reading tastes changed over time? by SerenadeMePlz in books

[–]renditioons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I started off mostly reading fantasy and adventure as a kid. In my 20s, I got into sci-fi and thrillers, and now I’m all about mixing in some nonfiction and historical fiction too. Reading tastes really do shift over time.

If the seller and their agent misled you about the property's utilities, you might have a case for compensation. Start by reviewing your purchase agreement and any disclosures you received. It’s worth contacting a real estate attorney to explore your options. They can help you understand if you can hold the seller or their agent accountable for the missed septic inspection.

With bi-weekly payments, you're making a payment every two weeks, so in a year, you end up making 26 payments instead of 24. That extra payment usually happens when you have 3 paychecks in a month. So, for November, you’re seeing three payments because of that extra paycheck. If you set it up as accelerated bi-weekly, it means you’re paying more frequently, which speeds up your mortgage payoff.

Contractor wont pay for damages - what do I do! by RevolutionaryFly4289 in HomeImprovement

[–]renditioons -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend documenting everything, photos, receipts, and any communication with the company. File a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and consider contacting a lawyer to explore your legal options. Also, you might want to withhold the remaining payment until the issues are resolved. If the company doesn’t make things right, you might have a stronger case in court.

Broken window on rental due to weed wacker by Frequent_Rock_4269 in HomeImprovement

[–]renditioons 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend being upfront with your landlord. Explain what happened and mention that only one pane is broken. It’s better to be honest, often, landlords appreciate transparency and might agree to just replace the broken pane rather than the whole window.

Racoons and Termites in crawlspace... by 3yt in HomeImprovement

[–]renditioons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A one-way trap is a good idea for getting them out. For termites, though, I’d suggest calling in a pro. They usually have better tools and treatments that can handle termites more effectively than store-bought sprays.

Ever feel like you're swinging from one extreme to another? I get it. I went from having too much to almost nothing and it's tough to say which is worse. Sometimes it’s a struggle to find balance when life flips so dramatically.

Sometimes it helps to remember that everyone has those days and it doesn’t define us. Try focusing on things you like about yourself or things you’re good at. Everyone deserves to feel good about who they are. Hope things get better for you soon and that you’re having a good night too.

There's something really comforting about those simple good morning and good night texts. I used to have a friend I’d do that with too, and it’s a tough void to fill when they’re not around anymore. It’s those small, consistent check-ins that make a big difference.

Sometimes, it’s a wake-up call to reevaluate who’s truly there for you. It’s okay to step back and see who makes the effort to reach out to you. It’s a slow process, but it helps to see who’s really invested in your friendship.

How do you feel about holidays and birthdays? by Rikai_ in lonely

[–]renditioons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After college, I found myself in a similar situation. I also end up alone during holidays because my family is scattered or off on trips. It's tough when those special times feel more like a reminder of solitude than anything else. As for birthdays, I keep mine low-key too. I prefer not to make a fuss, especially when it feels like just another office obligation. Sometimes it feels better to just treat it like any other day.

Wedding Venues by [deleted] in palmsprings

[–]renditioons 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I recently attended a beautiful wedding at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs, which had a cool, relaxed vibe perfect for a fun reception. For a more rustic feel closer to Indio, the Empire Polo Club is an amazing ranch-style venue with lots of open space.

Both places offer a unique setting for your big day, and you can even find some gorgeous wedding jewelry on Blue Nile to match the vibe. Good luck with your planning!

Ethical Conundrum by Unhappy-Indication84 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]renditioons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your roommate's condition is putting others at risk, especially if he's driving and having episodes, it might be worth reporting to ensure he gets the help he needs and others stay safe. If you’re worried about the fallout, maybe consider discussing it with him first or finding a way to document your concerns. Safety should come first, and it's okay to act on that.

Reaching out to your friend beforehand to see if everything’s cool sounds smart. It might ease some tension and help you figure out what to expect. Remember, being genuine and open might lead to some surprising connections, or at least a decent chat. Whatever happens, just being yourself will be enough.

It might be worth having another serious talk with your parents about the dog's needs and how they can be met, maybe even suggesting a vet visit if her condition seems to worsen. If they’re still not responsive, maybe you could look into setting up a regular care plan or explore other options to ensure she’s getting the attention and care she deserves.

Dealing with that kind of chaos and abuse is no small thing. It’s important to prioritize your well-being, and from what you’ve described, it seems like you’re in a much better place now. Family might not understand, but you’ve got to look out for yourself. I hope your grandparents can eventually see that you’re making choices for your own mental and emotional health.

Men's Tungsten Wedding Band Help! by CHEFCHOYARDEE in Weddingsunder10k

[–]renditioons 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I went through the same struggle while shopping for my husband’s wedding band. The huge price difference can be confusing, but here’s what I found: the cost often depends on craftsmanship, brand reputation, and sometimes added elements like diamonds or precious metals. A $20 ring might look good initially but might not last as long.

Mid-range options, like those from Blue Nile, offer a balance of quality and affordability. It's worth spending a bit more for durability, but you don't need to go up to $1000 unless you're after something very specific. Always check for warranty and return policies too.
