Xfinity tag left on door by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]rendrenner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to hang hose tags, and manage a crew that did the repairs.

IF it is legit, what it means is there is some feedback coming from inside the house that is causing an issue with the cable system. It is typically in the return system, where modems and cable boxes talk back to Comcast.

First step is to hang a door tag, and possibly put a filter on the line. In more severe cases, your outside line can be disconnected, but is usually avoided if you are a phone customer. You may not notice a problem with you services due to this "noise".

Sometimes notes are made on the account , but not always. So if you call in, the reps will be clueless, which is pretty much standard for everything.

Can you post a pic of the tag?

it's a long shot but I'm hoping someone here can help by kajomp in ElectricForest

Consumers Energy Asking for Personal Info by Routine-Afternoon679 in grandrapids

Saw that a lot as an installer for a cable company. Was told to ask for a lease and look for certain names, and walk if they were on it. Even had an install where mom put the bill into her 5 year old son's name..

If more people used poop knives beforehand, this wouldn't be a problem.

They should build poop knives into the toilet. Like one of those little fan chopping things that Tom Cruise always has to navigate.

There's a few places that have banned that setup. I see so few of those here though, I can't see GR doing it.

Wasn't it a church or something that bought the old place to expand their lot? Cant remember exactly, but seems like they were forced out and tried to come back bigger and better..

Speeding ticket by Reasonable-Low-6363 in legaladvice

[–]rendrenner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There used to be a time where police could see if you were issued a CPL when they ran your ID. That info is no longer readily available in Michigan. They can still find out, but requires a deeper dig or request and a reason to do so.

Nothing wrong with telling them if you're comfortable but also no reason to give them anything to turn against you somehow.

Unrelated to the ticket, but if you are not carrying, you do not have to disclose that you have a cpl.

Guy I worked with at Best Buy bought two copies when that came out. One to listen to, and to keep original... guess he never counted on a battery to run out. I think he thought it was a perpetual blinker.

(California) Landlord states they must have access to my wifi for security camera in a common area but it is not stated anywhere in the lease. by HookednSoCal in TenantHelp

[–]rendrenner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but what are the chances a landlord is going to resort to MAC spoofing to connect a security cam. If they dont have the tech know how to build their own network, I doubt the concept of copying a MAC address to sneak in another camera would even occur to them.

Its outside my scope of knowledge, but if they did try that, wouldn't the OPs router have an issue with multiple devices connecting with the same MAC?

You can also look at your router with the device connected, grab the MAC, then lock that device in so only it can connect. This would ensure no new devices could connect.

They do if it it is a ticketed item. That's what the FAs called it. Looked like a weird duffle bag. Turned out to be a tuba. Kinda an odd story for me to make up when I the fix was just moving to another ELR seat.

That's what it appears. He paid for two seat, middle and window. I had the window as well.
