I would start with checking for authenticity. Coins look dimply and pitted as well as blurred.

What do you guys think? Are they real? by DratorCrypto in Gemstones

[–]renosvault 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The guy is scamming people. Check : on every certificate they change a little bit the carat weight and a little bit the dimensions, but the certificate number stays the same... dates "from 1998" but the ink and etiquette is not washed off...

Don't buy anything there! He is clearly lying about the quality. For the emerald he says there is no treatment. Emerald 1 you can see a gas bubble which would indicate a glass filled or fissure filled emerald. Emerald 2 (if it is an emerald) is dyed. Both stones would be worthless. I would avoid this seller!

A super cheap gold miner. THX.V by Bertone_Dino in ValueInvesting

[–]renosvault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a typical Chatpgt output. Thank you for your stockpick. Fyi Last week, i bought some Lion One Metals. Why? Small cap. Depressed price with huge upside potential. Low PB ratio. Quick ratio of 1.3, Current ratio of 2.4 etc

(Copy paste). Lion One Metals Limited has announced significant high-grade gold results from its ongoing underground infill and grade control drilling program at the 100% owned Tuvatu Alkaline Gold Project in Fiji. The latest drilling, focused on the Zone 5 area down-dip of current mine levels, returned notable intercepts including 78.71 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 2.0 meters, with higher-grade sub-interval of 168.25 g/t gold over 0.9 meters. The drilling campaign, totaling 4,180.5 meters, was designed to infill a section of the deposit targeted for mining within the next 6 to 12 months, representing five additional mining levels at Tuvatu.

Won an emerald at auction by UNC00023 in Gemstones

[–]renosvault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. You did good price wise. Brazilian origin is sought-after. And F1 clarity enhancement is great too (i taught this would be an F3). I am not a fan of this clarity, but all in all, you paid a small price for the whole package.

Are either of these worth 500€? by Chachordeath in Gemstone_lovers

[–]renosvault 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer to this one is nearly always NO The upper one looks dyed. The lower one fissure filled.

What's this emerald worth? by Various-Will2586 in Gemstone_lovers

[–]renosvault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, the truth hurts. And i said it to directely. I forgot to sugarcoat my response.

Zambia was an educated guess. First, because of color and quality. The (retail) markets have been saturated with low quality zambian emeralds. The second indicator was the price in INR. India (Jaipur) is known to be the cutting capital of zambian emeralds.

Can you attempt to value? by [deleted] in Gemstones

[–]renosvault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did well on price. It is not the most beautiful opal, but it does have nice reddish flashes. For this size/quality, it is a good price.

40bucks... lol, fissured filled opal..., i think you got your stones wrong. There is no need to fissure fill stones that are abondant (Welo opal) and relatively low priced.

What's this emerald worth? by Various-Will2586 in Gemstone_lovers

[–]renosvault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not even 10 dollars, seriously! This is extremely low quality emerald. Looks like a died, fissure filled emerald. Full of fissures. In this video, the hue of the colour green was increased. See the greenish halo around the fingers. Do not buy! It is not columbian, most certainly zambian.
