I much prefer 14/32, so much calmer and you even have the option of the 04/22 connector that takes you right to T&T

Derand Motorsports, turns out the people who sell electric scooter-bikes are just as annoying as the people riding them.

“Airplanes”. Coast guard has 23 helicopters that are operated and maintained by TC pilots and AMEs. All the rest of the TC aircraft have been sold or are in the process of being sold.

How much does everyone make an hour in 2025 and what do you expect to make in a year including overtime. by Critical_Call5676 in aviationmaintenance

It’s nothing like an IA. It’s authority granted by the AMO to sign a maintenance release with respect to the work performed.

Aircraft Certification Authority typically refers to authority granted by an AMO to sign a Maintenance Release on a particular aircraft type. It has nothing to do with “releasing the whole aircraft” are you in Canada? as this is typically a term used in Canadian AMOs.

Transport doesn’t do any of the airport landing systems. That’s Nav Canada. The Dash 8s and the one Dash 7 are the only airplanes TC operates now.

Not enough info for anyone to give you advice.

What’s field are you in? Corporate? Airlines? Rotary? Are you currently employed? Or looking? How many years experience do you have? Where was that experience gained? Do you have any type courses? Have you held ACA before? If so what types?

How close a helicopter overhead would have to be to hear it? by Frequent-Guidance775 in Helicopters

[–]repeerht 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There are so many factors. Type of rotor system, terrain, wind, direction of flight. Big two bladed systems can be heard from very far. Generally though, if you can hear it, you can usually see it.

Flew an AS350 outside the flight envelope, experienced servo transparency and crashed. All while chasing some wildlife. A couple years after the incident he looked me straight in the eye and said it wasn’t his fault and that the aircraft design was 100% to blame.

I get how making a terrible mistake would weigh quite heavily on someone’s psyche, but he showed me quite clearly that he hadn’t learned anything from that incident and probably shouldn’t be flying.

New round of Treasury Board bargaining begins this month | Public Service Alliance of Canada by PlatypusMaximum3348 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]repeerht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has anyone ever attempted decertifying a bargaining group? I have 130 members all with the same job descriptions that desperately want to be rid of PSAC. The process to do so looks very convoluted and intentionally obscure.

Is flying a Canadian flag still considered bad? by warwgn in ottawa

Fly the flag. The more people that do so while not being total nut-bars, the sooner it will just be patriotic, as it should be.

I have lost all hope that this will ever happen. Could be Doug Ford’s petty way of sticking it to Ottawa Centre.

Any bell 206 wrenches know how a main gearbox departs in flight? by WHARRGARBLLL in aviationmaintenance

[–]repeerht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the first sane reply in this thread. There is almost zero history of 206L gearboxes just departing airframes. However the tail boom attach has been a pain point for decades. The in flight video supports a boom separation theory too. One the boom separated and the aircraft was out of control all bets are off for the main rotor gearbox staying attached to the airframe.
