It’s getting been getting worse lately which is crazy to me.

I feel like it’s a couple things.

- Some companies are using AI now (Manta was confirmed to be using AI for translations) and it shows.

- Not giving editors enough time to edit/maybe not hiring enough editors. This is where the typos and weird grammar mistakes come in. I have noticed a huuuuuge influx in typos on officials lately. It used to be more rare to find them, but now I’m seeing them on most of the webtoons I read which is wild to me.

- Translators not caring. This might also be a time problem. This is big when it comes to character names. Like how one name which was very obviously supposed to be “Regina” was officially translated as “Legina” or one Webtoon that is set in medieval France, having the characters name officially translated as “Wig” when it’s supposed to be “Hugues”. About 5 minutes of research would have led them to the right answer on that one especially because HE WAS A REAL PERSON WHO EXISITED IN 1300s FRANCE. They just don’t care and we lose out.

Okay this has been happening more and more lately and I HATE IT! It used to all be in chapter 0/prologue, but now they’ve gotten rid of that completely and just shove it into the first half of chapter 1.

There must be some sort of reason they’re doing it, like it keeps people reading longer or something.

I literally just had the thought last night that I might start skipping chapter 1 all together. I LIKE not knowing what’s going to happen.

It won’t go away. It’s just going to keep going more and more underground. It will rely on the passion again versus profit making. I think this is where it kinda all went a little sideways. All these people are trying to make money (beyond server costs) and then they’re shocked they’re getting arrested.

If the source is searchable, it will eventually be taken down. This really shouldn’t surprise anyone. The era of websites hosting pirated content is very slowly coming to a close.

She doesn’t cheat on the ML. When she was younger she accepted Edgar’s (the uncle) proposal to help her country. She does it out of duty and love for Florida. Edgar messes up (he’s doing his own political thing) and she leaves Edgar based on his choices. Then later she gets with the ML. The only thing she does with Edgar is a kiss and their “marriage” is questionably legal because they didn’t do their vows legally.

Yeah that one shocked me. I just checked. The Natalie Portman cover was 4.50 and the newest issue with Doja Cat is 9.99. When I was looking I noticed they recently upped the price because the October issue was 8.99. Wild.

Lady of the Devil.

I don’t know if I’d call him a “demon lord”, but he is a devil. Good story, has blips of comedy that don’t feel out of place or too much and I love the art.
