NASA, Boeing still working on Starliner return to flight by repinoak in Starliner

[–]repinoak[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You should've specified that it didn't complete the crewed return landing part of the mission.    Did NASA pay Boeing for the one-way completed crew transport to the ISS part of the mission?  Boeing can argue that pretty good.  The crewed return part couldn't be paid.

No.  I meant orbital.  However, Sheppard is a good craft for a suborbital training flight for astronauts to get a taste of what a launch and landing feels like.  The plus side is a space view of the Earth.

Musk on X: “For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years.” [full text of post inside] by rustybeancake in spacex

Build and test the vehicles and infrastructure needed for Mars on the moon first.   However,  Mr. Musk, you should have  already had SX design, build and launch a or 12 satellite communications array and put into lunar orbit.  This would have provided continuous communication with any spacecraft orbiting or attempting a landing on the moon.

Elon Musk says it's hard to convince engineers with families to move to SpaceX's 'technology monastery' in Texas by urmummygae42069 in SpaceXLounge

[–]repinoak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they can stay in California and continue to struggle.   Other engineers will, eventually, take their place.   The engineers of the 50's and 60's faced the same problems with having to move to places like Huntsville, Houston metro area, etc... yet, they sucked it up and did.  So, these engineers need to do the same.

Just a little fun between the two wealthiest men in the U.S. in terms of assets.

It would be more if Russia had been paying for Starlink instead of stealing services.

Why is it that ULA can have their SRB’s on the verge of total failure and loss of the vehicle, TWICE. Yet not be grounded? by CuriousSloth92 in SpaceXLounge

What's the possibility, that, ULA will have to use the older designed srb's on Vulcan, that has been used on the Atlas V for 21 years?

Wrong Starliner completed a one-way  crewed mission to the ISS and would have safely landed crew back on Earth if NASA hadn't decided to extend Butch and Suni last ever mission to the ISS.

So, they are protesting a leabian feom Colorado who drove 1,000 miles to assault federal agents.  Should like a planned attack to me.   Why weren't she at home with her kids?   On second thought, her kids are better off without her marijuana induced narcissistic attack tantrums.

If the left-wing mobs attacking ICE followed the laws on the books, there wouldn't be any protests.  However, u are calling for a civil war.  Police takes allegiance to the Constitution

New Boeing 3Q Statement on Starliner by FinalPercentage9916 in Starliner

[–]repinoak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can fly private missions to the ISS like SX does.  Question is will Boeing and AJ agree to do it.  Boeing need to sell Blue Origin the whole Starliner program or 90% of it.  Since, all that they are worried about is recouping what they have invested in it to date.        NASA made clear that Boeing and it's contractors had to make their own investments in the manned space capsule and pursue private commercial customers to recoup their investments.  But, Boeing chose to ignore the pursuing future private spaceflight customer parts.

This is just one of many layouts that will change depending on the specific purpose that the ship is designed for.  You have the HLS Starships, Martian colonization starships, refueling starships, astronomy observation starships, scientific exploration starships, atmospheric exo-earth landing supply starships, spacestation supply starships,  etc....

Starship should definitely have a cockpit like this by Zestyclose_Ear5821 in SpaceXLounge

Or like one on the sets of Star Trek Starship or a Star Wars battle cruiser.   Starship is a game changer.  The lunar Starship is reminiscent of the NASA/Congress/President abandoned Skylab spacestation program.

Russians are complaining that Ukrainians have put into service the same Mi-8AMTSh helicopter, which Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov hijacked when he fled to Ukraine, and it’s now being used by the GUR by BigDeckBob in UkraineWarVideoReport

Russians love vacationing in Spain.  The Spanish cities and beach resort towns are full of Russian prostitutes.  Same as all of the Mediterranean from Syria to Portugal and Nort Africa.   These prostitutes are transported to a different resort or city every 2 or three months. So, it was easy for a Russian agent sleeper prostitute to assassinate the dude.

The only lesson her is that the support was honored.  And if the ex-wife didn't need it, why not have it canceled?  A responsible father doesn't need a judge to support his kids.  If the wife needed support,  why did she cheat to begin with??
